Needed to consolidate storage
I paired this with a pair of 12 TB Seagate hard drives in a default configuration, leaving each drive available as an individual unit. Attached to my Proxmox 8 instance which is shared via SMB to the rest of my home network. I am consolidating data from multiple laptops, tablets, phones, and online services.Once I have all that cleaned up and paired down to things I actually want to keep, I will almost certainly reconfigure as a RAID 1.

Sorry. Cannot recommend.
If you're on AMD, Windows 11 (not sure if it worked on Windows 10) and are hoping to use the software, don't bother. Its own software doesn't even see the enclosure or the drives. The user manual is in mostly English, but the really important parts are in what I assume is Japanese. Can still be used as basically a drive bay. Windows does read the drives, but won't perform any RAID functions....says the device won't allow it. And since the Yottamaster Raid Manager software doesn't work, you can set the switches in the back all day long and never see that any RAID has been set.So this is basically a glorified external drive caddy with no other functionality.I'm pretty disappointed.Update: I've now started to experience the infamous turning off that others have complained about.I've since switched to using my M1 Mac Mini as my daily driver, and there isn't even software for an updated Mac. Says right on the website, NOT for Mac OS 11 or higher. At the time of this update, we're on macOS 13.2.1. That's a long time not to update software. Clearly not a priority. So at this point it's not even a glorified drive caddy. Even if there's some complicated fix, it's not worth it. It had basically one job...read the drives, and it can't even do that.Sad because I really wanted this to work.Edit 2: Felt it only fair to update. I did finally get it to work in JBOD mode, and it does not turn off in this mode (so far). Connected to TrueNAS Scale, and running disk management through that. So it's not a total loss and if this holds then it's a nice looking drive caddy, which basically does the same thing as my $49 2 drive Sabrent. I would not recommend this as a RAID solution and the driver situation, especially for Macs is BS, but as a drive caddy in JBOD mode....probably OK.

Dive sleep is a pain
drive looks nice - support is not as advertised - the drive regulary goes to sleep and the machine will loose connection - supposedly there is a firmware up date but it is only supported on Windows which is pretty bad for a drive enclosure that is supposedly supposed on Windows, Mac and Linux - works okay after freshly turned on - but looses connection after some period and does not support common wake up methods - must cycle power to regain access to drives - poor solution - doesn't actually have support for non-windows machines.

DRIVE STUCK
Following directions, I mounted two four-bay drives into the carriers. I set up the system in raid 1 and successfully backed up my MacPro using Time Machine. However, Raid 1 apparently did not work as there was no data copied to Disk 2. I attempted to remove Disk 1 when the carrier handle broke. When I attempted to remove disk 2, I experienced another stuck disk but did not put enough leverage to break the lever. So here my I two stuck disks on my Yottamaster 2 Bay RAID External Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5" 3.5" Hard Drives.

Using RAID 1 on this device - It stopped working
I had this setup to do RAID 1 and it just stopped working. It was showing two drives. (RAID 1 is 2 drives that mirror each other and show up as one drive.)I finally found the information that needed to get the RAID working on Yottamaster's website (but you won't find it searching for FS2RU3. Look for the manual for "Support Models: Yottamaster FS4RU3, FS5U3, FS5RU3, FS4C3, FS5C3". It actually has the information that you need there. (I've uploaded a picture of the part that is for the FS2RU3. It's kind of all mixed in together which makes it a little hard to figure out.)What I needed to do was press and hold the reset button (with a paperclip) while I turned the device on. That set the device back to RAID 1 again. I lost everything on it.One other thing that I do not like is that if the power goes of and back on then you will have to press the power button on the back of this device to get it to come on again.

Almost Perfect!
Item was exactly as advertised. Easy to setup and I'm using it for backup storage [18TB]. The only thing I wish is that there was a USB C version, then it would be perfect. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Ugh
Drives kept losing format. Bought a different brand and had no problems with the same drives.
