Good Phones at good price
Having moved to an old cottage with a 1970's BT master socket the phoneline was quite crackly. We were not sure if our old phone was contributing So we decided to buy a new phone and as like most people we don't use our home phone that often we didn't want to break the bank. Having read the reviews we plumped for these Panasonic's and were glad we did. Set up was very easy, charge it up for a few hours then plug it into the phone socket. The menus on the phone are all very straightforward and it was easy to navigate to change the ringtone and volume settings. ( I didn't even need the instruction book! ) The ringtones are nothing very original but loud enough to hear in another room with normal house noise but not so loud that you jump out your skin if you're sitting quietly reading a book. The phones also seem to improve the quality of the line and our calls are crackle free, which is especially important when listening to many companies hold music !! The numbers are bigger than other phones I have had which comes in handy when your eyes are nearing 40, the screen is very clear and displays the date and time. It does have a phone book if you want to store numbers if that's your thing, if you have the feature it will display the callers number but I refuse to pay BT any more then I only have to. It works well on hands-free which comes in handy whilst listening to hold music as you may want to make a cup of tea or knit a jumper!! I know there are lots of similar phones around at a similar price but this has all the features that I believe most would want from a home phone at a good price, therefore I recommend.

Good build quality for a modest price
Deciding that it was time to retire my 33-year-old landline phone and replace it with one that I could use hands-free, I bought a £30 corded model from a major manufacturer that turned out to be dead on arrival. Happily this Panasonic has been a more successful purchase. The minute that I felt its reassuring weight in my hand, I was confident that it was a quality product, and that is what it has proved to be. Its sound quality is fine, its screen is entirely satisfactory, its illuminated buttons are nice and positive, its ergonomics are intelligent and its instruction manual is detailed and lucid. And it has useful features like volume controls for calls and ringtones, an ample memory for friends' numbers and the a night mode that allows you to silence it while you're asleep. If you're content with a landline phone that doesn't include an answering machine, I don't think that the KX-TG6811EB will disappoint you.

Good/Solid Home Phone
I purchased this phone for my mother who regularly uses the land line:PROs:1. Clear display with time and date on rest mode.2. Nice big buttons so very easy to use.3. Good selection of ringtones.4. Loudspeaker function really good and clear.5. Found it pretty forward setting up.6. Call register and other functions work fine.CONs:1. The ringtone could be slightly louder, it is fine and if you haven't got really noisy family. I don't think it'll be an issue. But if you partially deaf grand parents then it might.Overall it's a good phone and would definitely recommend it for normal use at home.

A good product - for what it was designed for it does well
I had a pair of BT cordless phones which I took back because the signal kept cutting out and people were complaining about the quality of the sound. My friend recommended me these Panasonic phones instead so I decided to give them a try. So far I am very happy with this. The sound/speech quality performs well and I have had no comments or complaints about quality of the calls. I like the appearance and the design of the machines and the price point was good too.My one niggle is that you cant stand the phones upright - the base is slightly curved shaped to fit nicely into the charging base but it means that it is not possible to stand the phone on a table top say in the upright right position. Maybe I shouldn't be wanting to do that since it could easily topple over and perhaps become damaged - but my natural inclination is to want to stand the phone upright and I cant do that.If the designers should read this perhaps they will include it in a future iteration of the product.Apart from that minor niggle I would happy to recommend this product.NB. this is the version that doesn't have an answer machine included.

Almost good!
Although I had seen mixed reviews about these phones I had high hopes, particularly as I bought my mum a set of Panasonic phones that were superb. Upon arrival, I thought the phones looked great, felt good to hold and were so simple to set up. I also liked the way that all the data that you enter, automatically transfers to the other phones. However I then discovered several things that I didn't like. With my old phones, I can answer a call simply by lifting it out of the cradle - without having to press a button, on this one you can't. My old phone had a bright red flashing light at the top if I missed a call, this one has a faint yellow slow flashing light near the bottom that can easily be missed. I wasn't bothered about not having an answering machine as I use 1571, but on this model, without the answer machine, you cannot record your own phone message. I could have lived with all those things but worst of all was the sound. Although I was told I could be heard crystal clear by my callers at the other end of the phone, I got a distorted, 'muffled' sound from them. Personally, I don't think the noise reduction feature made any difference whatsoever, apart from giving the sound a bit more base. I made several test calls to see if the problem was consistent and all were the same. I even called with my mobile and that was perfect. So, I have now reverted to my old Philips phones that are around 10 years old. They don't look as good, but the sound is great!
