Headway Violin Band Pick-Up

My wife plays fiddle in ceilidh bands, and I work the PA system.This pickup works perfectly through a normal microphone input. It sounds natural and has never caused feedback, not once, even at tricky gigs when other instruments have been troublesome. The player can move about freely, hardly noticing that it's there.Fastening it on takes seconds, and of course you can use it on other fiddles just as easily, so if you use more than one instrument it's exceptional value. It looks expensive, but you'll only buy one, it won't mark your violin, there's no need for a preamp, and it performs like a dream.What more can I say? This is the best PA-related product that I know of. If you're serious about amplifying your fiddle, just take the plunge, fork out & reap the benefits.It took me more than a year to persuade a friend to buy one of these, but he's pleased with the sound and the ease of use. He didn't believe that it would produce a natural sound. Now he does. I'm pleased with the amount of monitor volume that I can give him without feedback.Excellent product, recommended without reservations.

I really like this pickup, it's easy to use, sounds great (even to the critical ears of my music lecturers and technicians) and works perfectly. Having read some of the other reviews I'll say that I haven't used it loads yet and so can't comment on wear and tear but so far it's been really good. I think for me it does slightly annoy me that it covers the violin but I didn't want to spend loads more and buy the step up from this as the bridge pick up and this is really good. It's only a thin band and doesn't look bad at all but I'm just picky I think, if you are too it might bug you a little but the quality of the sound will stop you caring.

Every time I play a gig with this, the sound tech smiles with relief. :) The violin model will also fit a small viola. My one gripe is that the Velcro became dislodged after comparatively little use. It's a small complaint but it does interfere with an otherwise excellent product, so I'm surprised Headway haven't found a solution.

Delivery within stipulated time period without damage.Second time that I have bought this as is my all time favourite for the violin. Well designed to give an accoustic feel unlike other pickups. Certainly easy to fit and use with good reproduction of acoustic sound. Only issues; do get some rustling noise from body of violin when moving instrument into position and a touch of feedback in a high volume setting.

Easy to use, no modification to your precious instruments! The sound is very natural and warm, and the price payed, considering the quality, it's ok.

Lives up to its reputation in other reviews. Natural sound, very hard to get any feedback however hard you try, easy to fit and switch between instruments.

Did everything I needed it to - versatile, neat and warm sound. Gr8 for professional use especially when performing at UK Festivals :-) Only problem is the Velcro isn't securely attached to the band and so I needed to use double aided tape to secure it.
