While it fits nicely on the canister opening giving it a good snug fit, it is a little too small for the 2.5 gal canister; this is to be expected as it's intended for 1 - 1.5 gal canister. I had previously purchased 3 - 4.5 gal dust bags which were much too large and were returned. I had trouble finding dust bags for this 2.5 gal wet/dry vacuum but have since found some. Regardless, I plan on keeping these. They were at a special price of $12.01 for 3 bags: a little pricey for $4.00/bag.
