Excellent all round meter
Neat unit, robust connectors, leads, unit shell and zipped carry case. Intuitive user functions with automatic selection and scaling. Large colour display is eady to read but feels a little exposed to pressure from accessories when everything is squeezed into the carry case. The temperature measurement probe is flimsy, not really up to being crammed into the pack with everything else, but leaving that aside, it's very workable toolbox meter that you can carry around and use all the time, and if temperature matters then the unit still gives an ambient temperature reading without the probe. This meter is such a good one and good value that I have bought a second one. No shadow of doubt from me it's five star.

Nice little meter with only minor niggles
This is a nice little multimeter. It's palm-sized so it's very compact, which is quite handy. It's got a nice set of features that most people will need. They haven't skimped on features or overburdened it either. The yellow rubber is durable, grippy and soft. It's suitable for DIY use and maybe some professional use with some caveats. The maximum RMS voltage that it can handle is 240v so it's fine for household (single phase) and car use. It has separate AC and DC voltage switches so you don't have to check what mode it's in by looking for a display icon. The continuity beeper is clear but it could be louder IMHO. The backlit display is handy too when working in gloomy areas, but the backlight only illuminates for about 5 seconds before the light switches off and you have to press the button again. That's the one drawback I've found, and it can be a bit annoying. For frequency measurement, the multimeter can't handle 240v. I think 50v is the maximum voltage for the frequency sensing function, so you'll need a voltage divider or transformer to perform a frequency measurement on the mains. This is a major drawback if you need to measure frequency a lot, but for most uses (voltage, continuity, resistance, current) it's perfect. I've never used the diode test feature on this meter so I can't really comment on it. To switch between continuity and diode test, you just push the FUNC button. The resistance check is also a useful tool for diagnosing electronic problems (and for finding out a resistor value because the manufacturers haven't included any coloured bands...)You can hold the readings you get and show the maximum value which is very handy. There's no minimum feature however, just maximum. This may be a bit of an annoyance but I haven't had any issues. The test leads are quite good quality. They fit very securely into the meter so there's no issues with intermittent continuity or arcing. The end insulating sheaths simply slide off (the area below the finger-guards) so you can get more exposed conductor if you need it. One problem I have noticed is that the finger-guards could be a bit bigger but it is still relatively safe. The 9V battery lasts forever. To get to the battery compartment, you need to remove a small screw and then pull the grey cover off. The 9V battery clips onto a set of leads. One problem I noticed is that it's a bit fiddly to get the battery leads inside the battery compartment without them getting jammed in the cover. The battery leads could be a bit shorter to prevent this but it's not a major issue as it's not something you'll do very often. It comes with a good 9V battery in the box. All you have to do is install it and off you go.I've used the meter to check battery voltage (UPS and car batteries) and to take readings from a 3 phase electric motor. I also use it to "prove dead" before commencing any work and to take voltage readings from the mains. I've not had any issues with these jobs and it's a capable little meter. I'd recommend it for DIY, car and household use. It's cheap but sturdy. It fits into your palm and it's light too. The backlight not remaining latched on can be a slight annoyance but it's not enough to make me not recommend this meter. All in all it's a good little meter. It's got the features you need at a very low price. It's sturdy, durable and easy to use.I also have a PROSTER VC99 which can handle higher voltages and currents. It also has a thermocouple along with a capacitor and transistor (hFE) check function. I'd recommend that (or a Fluke) if you need a professional multimeter or need to measure mains frequency and don't want to have to use a voltage divider. It also has a minimum and maximum reading feature. It has no backlight.

Good size - large enough to read easily
Good size - large enough to read easily, small enough to hold in your hand. Feels reasonably rugged and well-built. In operation has worked fine so far. Backlight and continuity buzzer are definite pluses. At the back are two flexible plastic holders to hold the probes out of harm's way - good since the ends of the probes are quite sharp. Would benefit from crocodile clips for use in some situations. I now keep a pair clipped to the top of the test leads. Only 4 stars rather than 5 as when I came to review, price had come down £4 since my purchase!

Needed a reliable multi meter for my home
I wanted to get one of these for ages. Handy for testing batteries and mains loops for the lighting. It worked well on my mains when I was testing a socket. Also told me how much voltage was in my rechargeable batteries, handy as lots of them drain away when not being used.Have used it in all aspects AC DC continuity and power (wattage)Seems to be accurate enough for my needs.Pros• Good Price• Well Made• Comes with all the probes you need• Has a audible beep for continuity• Has a backlight• Nice and compactCons• Beep is a bit quiet• Stowage for probs does not hold them very well• No minimum setting for read outsWould recommend this product

Excellent, low price, but quality meter, perfect DIY
The instructions are terrible, but if you know what you’re doing/ have used one before you should be ok.I first used the meter to fault find the electronics in a Beko Dryer, I managed to fix this issue pretty quickly.I’m very impressed that at this price point it has NCV (Non-Contact Electrics), so you can sense electricity/cables in the wall. This proved the best feature as I was struggling to get a wall socket to work, then used NFC and found there was no electric going to the socket, which meant fault finding on the breaker box, I did find the fault and it was al fixed in seconds! The meter also comes with an ambient temperature and fluid temperature probe, this I’ll put to use to make a perfect cup of coffee!!

Excellent value and quality with extra functions
I have around 6 different types of multi-meter for jobs on my house wiring, large home server farm and smart-home, boat and car. For a very reasonable price, this meter has a number of improvements over my "pocket" meters - i.e. the hold button, auto-scaling, frequency mode and very clear and bright back-light - saves me using a torch in nooks and crannies in my boat and attics. There are also quite a few practical advantages - the size is midway between my desktop and pocket meters with a large display and it has a foldable stand. The probes are very good quality for the price with thick cables so should last longer than some of my old ones that are now held together with insulating tape. The probes clip into holders on the rear of the meter which will protect them and keep things tidy. It also uses a cheap and common 9v PP3 battery rather than the rarer and more expensive small speciality batteries in my other pocket meters.

Not very good
The one which was sent to me,looked used and it didn't function correctly so maybe it had already been sent back faulty and they sent it to me,so I can't really state how a good one would work.
