Hurt Locker [Blu-ray]

I know this is an award winning film and for that reason alone I despair. I struggled for 15 minutes with this and I really wanted to get into and see it through, but I just couldn't get past all the "Shaky cam" footage.I understand that EVERYTHING you see on screen can be used to build mood, but I just feel that there's better ways of portraying jagged realism than having the camera bobbing around like the footage has being shot by a bored teenager who's attention is well and truly distracted.Totally unwatchable for me. If I want poor camerawork I'll watch the amateurs on YouTube.

Brutal and relentless pretty much sums this up. A ride with a bunch of guys right on the ragged edge if not over it. You can argue about the realism and the impact of the US military arriving through your front door but this is a movie and was almost certainly intended to take a narrow view on the rights and wrongs. The perspective is 'It's happening and you damn well better deal with it' and the film finds some interesting and believable ways to do it. For war movie fans it's a must see, For everyone else it's an 'approach with caution' as it pulls few punches.

Acting, filming, direction, sets and effects, all excellent.Story, not so much.First hour is quite exciting and interesting. It ends with a drinking scene.After that, it's just more of the same. There is no story as such. It just repeats itself.Then the end and another crew, rinse-repeat.OK we got the message 50 or so years ago with Vietnam. US troops, killing civilians, destroying lives and getting killed, in the name of America.Pointless then, pointless now.Sadly, this film doesn't make that point at all.

Okay but overrated. Good acting spoiled by weak story / plot and dumb actions which either don't work or indicate the main character was an idiot.

Powerful action adventure combined with excellent directing, acting and script enabled me to feel something for the two main characters as their relationship gradually develops and we see their humanity coming out. Gripped me from the beginning to the end.

I'm guessing if a soldier in the US Army acted that way he'd be in the brig. No one would work with him and to be honest, I think the director got "suspense" mixed up with "annoying". You quickly grow tired of the main character.

This was the last movie that I watched last night and it didn't fail to impress me, to which I thought was good, more than average rating this Movie was. I'd watch it again after a spell but give it a break for the time being!

Absolutely fantastic movie. It's a must see .This definitely deserves a place in your collection. Its action all the way through fantastic storyline deserves 5* all day long . I would recommend to anyone.
