Lovely on the skin, and a fabulous close shave.
I must have bought Arko several times and forgot because here I am buying some more, and on repeat subscribe and save, however it appears currently at review you can only buy x1 for the current price £1.49 or on S&S £1.27 which is what I have currently then you can chose how often you would like the stick sent to your home address.Arko reminds me of the sticks my Grandpa and Dad used for a wet shave, looks oldy woldy and a bit 70s in which my husband likes.Very well packaged and no leaks, there is a distinctive scent, however my husband cannot say what it is, but likes it.So there is a choice of one stick costing £1.49 normally….£4.99 but on offer at review….However what is currently a good buy 12 sticks for £8.94, which individually sets you back a fantastic 74P each approx. We live in the middle of the country where the water is very hard, can cause havoc with dry skin. My husband was fed up with normal routine shaving gels, the prices are getting ridiculous, so looked on Amazon and read the reviews. As I mentioned at the top of my review, we have indeed purchased the Arko before, so I knew it was ok for my husbands sensitive skin.Last night and every other night my husband shaves, we bought a new brush also. The stick does lather up really well, so that every part of the face is evenly covered without gaps. Beautifully soft on the face, and gives a glorious shave with a proper razor + blades which I bought on Amazon.Being a hard water area I was surprised how the stick did froth up, wasn’t thin cream, but not too thick, just right for a good, clean cut shave. The skin afterwards was very soft and smelt divine.Brightens the skin upItem weight 75gsIn todays climate and constant price rises, this stick at the current offer price is excellent, you want a good close shave then Arko definitely delivers that… I shall continue with subscribe and save for this stick, unless the price goes up ridiculously..But currently my husband recommends.Just remember it is cheaper overall to but 12 as opposed to one at review.I haven’t given stars for ‘ flavour’ as obviously no one eats the stick, so I assume it means ‘scent’, in which case, that would be 5* also.⭐️Thank you to the seller⭐️I hope my review helps you

Shave with it before you dismiss it.
It's actually not bad shaving soap. It's soft enough to apply a good amount to a pre-moistened, two day beard. It lathers very well producing thick and sufficiently cohesive suds. The suds hold their form well and don't dissipate as some shaving soaps do. The razor glides cleanly and maintains the sensitivity of contact to the beard through the razor and into the fingertips inspiring the confidence that inadvertent cuts or scrapes can be avoided through improved tactility. You can feel the blade against the bristles and are able to calibrate the pressure applied based upon this tactile feedback. Some soaps or gels contain lubricants which will reduce this sense of contact and leave you reaching for the styptic pen. The scent of the soap is something I haven't experienced previously. The scent has a distinctly citrusy smell, almost like citronella. It seems strong initially but it is greatly reduced by the final rinse and moisturisation. It does have a slightly carbolic smell to it, but that isn't disagreeable as it reminds me of being a young man when we had coal tar soap at home. I used the Arko shaving soap for the first time this morning and I am pleased to report that appears to have been kind to my skin which is a touch sensitive. Despite my initial reservations about this soap based upon some of the reviews mention of the scent, I am glad I made the purchase. Yes, I recommend Arko shaving cream soap stick.

Good value, basic shave soap.
Bought to be part of a travel shaving kit. The soap is a traditional barber soap, applied directly to the face and brushed up to a lather directly on the skin - without the hassle of having to take a large shaving bowl away. The scent of the soap is best described as like a traditional hand soap. The scent is pleasant enough but other, more expensive products are far better scents (and the reason Im only giving 4 stars). It would be perfectly usable as an everyday shaving soap.It produces a good lather which allows the razor to glide very smoothly across the skin. Be aware that it is a Tallow based product so it is not suitable for vegans.

Old school stick of shaving soap. Amazing value.
Bought to try as my preferred (but more expensive) wool-fat shaving soap is sadly no longer available. This stick should last ages and the price represents amazing value. To use, peel back the foil from one end. I used a wet brush and lathered on the end of the stick rather than rubbing the stick on my face. Tip: keep the exposed end pointing down and water won't run down the stick, but back onto your brush instead. The lather I built wasn't particularly thick but did still glide well. It didn't clog the razor and dissolved well in the basin where it didn't leave sticky residue either.I might try the microwave and soap bowl trick others have suggested when I have a spare soap bowl.Smooth shave and my face didn't feel dry or sore afterwards.Scent wise I thought a hint of citronella candle. My wife thought 'laundry powder when it came loose in boxes not tabs'. Either way, old school, not unpleasant, and neither overpowering nor lingering.Did I mention amazing value for money?

Amazing for shaving.
Amazing shaving stick soap. Provides great slickness. Lathers very well. Smells like an old school barbers shop, (which I love and reminiscent of my childhood). Fantastic as a travel companion as it isn’t a liquid. Better when used with a shaving brush but can be face lathered with hands in a pinch. The paper wrapping can stick to the soap when used but this is a minor complaint. Best wetted fora minute it so to soften ahead of us I have bought and used this many times and it’s in my rotation of shaving soaps. Will always buy again.

Lasts for ages - best way to use it in review
I bought this for £2.99 delivered back in March. It now seems to be an add on item. I bought it along with all the other kit after getting into DE shaving as I was sick of paying absurd prices for a bit of metal and plastic with Gilette Fusion blades.Best move I have ever made with shaving and I do not suffer from ANY razor burn or spots round my neck that always happend with disposable cartridge shaving.I am not a shaving fetishist and do not get a semi about different razor handles, creams, pre shave treatments, pure bristle brushes etc. I got into this way of shaving as I don't like wasting money so I bought all the cheapest bits I could that came in at under £20.I am very happy with the cheapest items I have bought and feel no need to upgrade. This shaving stick is great. Bought in March it has hardly gone down & I am sure it will last me to the end of the year at least.*** Tips - For some reason I joined Badger & Blade - one of the DE shaving fetishist forums the other week and came across this, Arko shaving stick. I learnt that I was doing it all wrong so am sharing my tips.I WAS wetting the shaving stick & brush and rubbing brush on the stick & creating a lather. This is WRONG.What you have to do is ensure you have at least some growth - if you run your hand up your face and can feel it that's enough. Wet your face and the shaving stick. Then rub the stick over your face - against the grain. You probably won't see a lot and will think it isn't enough. It is!Then get your wetted brush and start working it over your soaped face in circlular strokes and you will be amazed at the thick lather it creates. Once you are covered "lay it off" in smooth strokes and then you are all set for the best shave of your life!Hope this helps. Cheers

Adequate
It's the cheapest available at the time and it shows, 3 stars product but the price bumps it up, it does the trick but doesn't lather well

savon a barbe Arko

Back to Basics, Back to Bliss: Excellent Shaving soap
After exploring a plethora of shaving products, I found myself inevitably drawn back to the comforting embrace of the Arko Men Face Shaving Soap Stick – and let me tell you, it felt like returning to a familiar haven. This traditional soap, often associated with barbershops abroad, may lack the flashy packaging of its modern counterparts, but its performance is nothing short of remarkable. The lather produced by this stick is truly exceptional. When paired with a shaving brush, it transforms into a luxurious, creamy foam that prepares your beard for a smooth, close shave. I even experimented with the "old-school" method of squishing it directly into my shaving cup, and to my delight, it yielded fantastic results – lasting me an entire year! Talk about value for money! While Arko offers more elaborate, consumer-friendly creams, this stick harks back to simpler times and excels in its primary function: delivering an exceptional shave. Forget about gimmicks; this soap prioritizes pure performance, and it excels in doing just that. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the packaging may not win any design awards. However, before you let that deter you, consider this: you're essentially getting a wholesale product at a fraction of the cost. Each stick retails for mere pennies, and while the online price might seem inflated, remember that it's shipped from Turkey and involves multiple distributors. Put it into perspective: you're acquiring a product that could potentially last you a decade for the price of a single shave at a high-end salon! Some critics have raised concerns about the scent in 1-star reviews, but fragrance preferences are highly subjective. The Arko stick boasts a clean, classic soap aroma reminiscent of old-school Ivory. And fear not, if you leave it uncapped, the scent naturally dissipates over time.In summary, if you're seeking exceptional value, unparalleled performance, and a return to the fundamentals of shaving, the Arko Men Face Shaving Soap Stick is a true hidden gem. Don't let the modest packaging deter you – this traditional soap delivers an outstanding shave at an unbeatable price. And always remember, while scent preferences may vary, the quality and longevity of this soap speak volumes for themselves.
