Fluidmaster PRO550UK Top/Side/Front Mounted Dual Flush Valve - White

Like all the Fluidmaster fittings I've used so far, seems no-nonsense and well designed and made. Relatively easy to fit for a DIY hack like me, not much adjustment to be done, doesn't seem to be temperamental after a month's use. Far better than the Opella Torbeck flush valve it replaced - flushes faster and more reliably.Only time will tell whether the button holds up better than the Opella (I was replacing the Opella's flush button about once every 9 months) but I prefer the button's design and it seems a little less plasticky.If I had a complaint, it would be that the supplied fitting instructions are pretty sparse, but even I managed to figure it out. There are instructional videos on YouTube if you want someone to walk you through it.If you've got a close-coupled toilet and are replacing an existing flush valve, you'll probably want to remember to get a replacement close-coupled toilet fitting kit as well; if it's more than a few years old, the old rubber O-ring seal is likely to not seal any more once you've taken the old valve out - mine was quite badly perished and fell apart in my hands as I took the old valve out. Also make sure you scrape/sandpaper off any sealant or plumber's putty off the cistern that may have been used to 'enhance' the seal between the old valve's washer and the cistern, or the new washer won't seal properly and you'll get a constant slight leak. I missed a bit first time round - rookie error - and had to take everything apart again a day later and do the job all over again.

I went for a 25% for short flush as thats enough for a number 1It was maybe the simplest bit of DIY that looked daughting but it was easy. When this arrived it was easy to fit. This is dual flush and was replacing a broken single flush unit - although different in a few ways such as size and shape to the old unit (I'm not much of a DIYer so differences worry me generally) it was easy to set this up. I adjusted the small flush to minimum and the large flush to maximum (personal preference) and the height of the overflow was also easy to set. Then fitting it was no problem - a minor tweak to move the overflow pipe out of the way of the ball valve. A cable controls the flush action and this clips easily to the button so when putting the cistern lid back on you need to clip the cable on just before the lid goes on. Of course if you need to take the lid off again you'll need to un-clip the cable - it's easy to do and the cable is long enough to give you the room to do this. I imagine if you have the confidence to take a cistern off a toilet rather than call a plumber then this unit will present you no problems what so ever. It comes with various adjusters for different positions for the button and also the size of the drain to the toilet bowl. It says it fits most cisterns and I'll have to take them at their word (not being in the trade). It certainly fitted mine and looks reasonably adjustable for other situations.

I replaced my system with one of these 6 years ago .. it recently started to leak .. i figured id use the same one again.Last time i had to take the tank off the wall to fit it , i wasn't relishing the idea of having to do this again ..Read a review that said you twist and remove the main part .. that's Not in the instructions that i read ..Rather dubious i shut off the water , flushed it and gave it a twist .. did not come out one way so tried the other direction .. it came off !!!Unclip the push button , refit and job done .. circa 5 mins .Highly recommended for this one feature , this design is a bit common for leaks so to have such a quick fix is amazing .Maybe other makes are of a similar design ? no idea , but this was excellent so i highly recommend this item .

I got a random slightly cheaper one before this which leaked like a waterfall and dripped way after flushing and dripped constantly...replaced with this and no issues whatsoever.Go straight for this one for the few extra pounds and save yourself time, money & potential stress.
