It's too small even for single portion salad.

Please note when purchasing that these bowls have no finish, they will require seasoning (with wood oil or mineral oil).I was very pleased with the bowls upon their arrival as they are very pleasing to the eye. I immediately applied a first coat of mineral oil, as I began to prepare then for use. I had decided to rinse and season them once a day for a week before I put them to use. (I had planned to season them once a week after that for a month, and once a month thereafter.)Upon my third day of seasoning, I had just poured about two tablespoons of mineral oil into each of the bowls when I got called to the phone. The mineral oil sat in the bowls for about five minutes before I returned to wipe the oil inside and out. When I lifted the bowls from the counter, there were oil stains on the counter. Looking at the bottoms of the bowls I saw that the mineral oil had seemed to seep though the bottoms of the bowls.I finished seasoning the bowls and let them sit for about four hours and decided to fill the bowls with some water to see if they were leaking or if i might just have spilled some of the oil.Both bowls leaked water.My conclusion is that if both mineral oil and water can leak through the bottom of the bowl, so too can food oils if I were to use these for salads. Food oil deposits in the bottom of the bowl will lead to bacteria build up over time (which is why they you are cautioned not to season salad bowls with food oils), so these bowls will not be used in my home.

Love these bowls. I now have 8 of them with the large salad bowl and they look beautiful. Very happy with them.

They are beautiful bowls the different wood grains are stunning but I will not be using these for salads. I had purchased these bowelsfor my crystals and stones which I have been getting a assortment of and since both of which are from the earth and wood is a natural element so they will help my stones in containing their natural energy..The bowls are medium sized and perfect for my usage of them.Very happy and will order again if I need more from Ironwood Gourmet..

These bowls arrived safely in good time and in perfect order - even though they were loosely packed in their post box.Their quality of manufacture, size and finish is up to expectation.A slight improvement would be not to have the 'inside top lip or rim' inside each bowl - but that is just a personal impression.

Bought this bowl because I wanted a wooden bowl that was also attractive. This one is very well made, and the one I received is very similar in appearance and grain pattern to the one pictured here. Completely satisfied...

I like salads. The small salad bowls I had are too small so I was using my large salad bowl instead. It was ungainly, took too much room at table. I check out Amazon and found a nice middle-size bowl. When arrived I saw that it fit the bill perfectly! Ironwood Gourmet Wooden Salad Bowl
