Direct Sound EX29 Extreme Isolation Headphones

Great headphones! The isolation is excellent, perfect to block out the buzz and drone of the open space office - or the traffic.It is also an excellent pair of studio headphones with a flat, unaccented response, but great detail, useful to check mixes every once in a while.

The sound isolation was bad for the casual environment (e.g. office, street noise). Perhaps they are very good for studio, but I was looking for pure sound isolation and these one did not work for me.

I bought these headphones before christmas at about half price and when i recieved them i was impressed by the level of noise reduction and clarity of the speakers HOWEVER after less than a month the headband just snappped right off when i took them off with a normal amount of force. I did some research and found many other people have found this problem and have collected quite a 'collection' of broken headbands. Just because spare parts can be bought for these headphones dont be fooled into thinking its a good thing - yes, if they break you can replace the broken part and use them again... but how long untill the replacement breaks? They say they are 'proffesional quality' but if anything they are less than some of the cheapest ear deffenders on the market. Probably the best isolation headphones you can get at this price...for a month.I have contacted Juno and they are giving me a full refund, customer service was fast and friendly - I know this is a negative review for these headphones but Juno as a company, are very good.

I've really rated these and didn't have the reservations about general build quality that other reviewers have - but I'm at a desk, not in a challenging environment.However I've recently become more fatigued wearing them, and realised it's down to the replaceable earpads slowly becoming stiffer and more uncomfortable over time. These are designed as removable, but as yet I've found no cheap UK replacements for them (haven't been looking long).Final rating will likely vary depending on the result

I agree with all of the claims that I saw on the website. These are a superb headphone for guitar practice.Sound containment is great, as is the ability to block un wanted sounds

I bought these phones a while back so i could drum along to music without deafening myself, they do the job perfectly, can still hear my drums but i no longer get that awful ringing sound for hours after.I was slightly upset at first putting them on and still being able to hear the tv, however, once you get your music playing, most ambient noise is reduced if not canceled completely, hence the name, extreme isolation.The sound quality is absolutely fantastic, i use them for just listening to music on my computer, they have a wonderful balance, not too heavy on bass or treble. They also handle a very good range.It should be mentioned that these are designed with isolation in mind, so they are quite large, but because of this size , they are very very comfortable. The phones actually go around your ear instead of sitting on top which is nice.Very large, and this particular set very Grey, not an MP3 accessory.
