Got a couple of dogs and the German Shepard is a sloppy drinker. It's like she puts her whole nose in the water and then when she pulls out she's dripping water all over the kitchen. My first thought was a towel. But the towel was drenched a lot. Then I got a rubber doggie mat for the food and water. It was then that I saw how really bad she was. Not long after I put the mat down there was water covering at least 3/4 of the mat. Then I found this bowel. IT WORKS. Sure there's still some dribble around the bowel but it's very minor compared to what it was with regular water bowls. My only complaint is that it could be a little larger. With a Shepard and a Catahoula (medium/large dogs) a couple of times at the bowl and we are filling it up again. We just keep a big cup on the cabinet to do refills when we see it is running low. But if you have a sloppy drinker for a dog, this is your solution.

I have sloppy drinkers. This construction did prevent the bowl from being tipped over however they still dribble water on and around the floor when done drinking and walking away. I think it would be an improvement to the design if it had a shallow cup attachment to the bottom of the floating level ring to limit the drench effect as they push the float down to drink this causes dribbling from the dogs chins when they are done drinking. If you have multiple dogs or large breed you will have to fill at least once a day. Over all not as messy as an open bowl fair value for the money.

This bowl was a really nice concept. I bought it for my three 12 - 15 pound shih tzu's that I keep in full coat. I was hoping to avoid all the dripping after they drink. Unfortunately the bowl was really big and too hard for them to drink from. It only seemed to work a little for them when it was kept full to the top. I just don't think they were strong enough with their flat faces to push the ring down enough. It seems like it would be great for larger dogs. If you have really small dogs or flat faced dogs, it might not be right for you. I have a feeling it would be amazing for larger dogs. I would really like it if they offered a smaller size. Overall, it didn't work for me no matter what I tried, but I really think it would be wonderful for dogs that are larger or have normal dog snouts. See pictures that I included. If you have a larger dog with hair like this it would probably cut down on the mess. The couple of times they tried drinking from it, there definately was not as much dripping because their ears didn't hand into the bowl. LOL

My Yorkie has a collapsing trach which causes him to aspirate easily when he drinks & he also takes a diuretic so he drinks A LOT!!! Bottom line; He needs a "Slow Drinking Water Bowl!" So, after reading the product description thoroughly, doing brand research, watching the product videos, reading customer reviews, measuring & remeasuring; I decided to purchased this! And, now I'm here to leave an honest review, based on my experience.Obviously, I gave one star & that's ONLY bc 1 star is mandatory to review a product :( Listed below the reasons for this...1 star deducted; Due to INACCURATE size listed in the product description! The product description states the height of this product is 3 inches, which is the exact height of my little guy's regular pedestal food & water bowls! However, while the bowl itself is 3" tall it's actually 4" tall when sitting in the stand?! So the product description being incorrect, makes the stand useless & I paid more to get the stand!!!1 star deducted; This bowl is not appropriate for small dogs as stated in the product description & seen in the product videos, due to it's size! Although my Yorkie can complete the task of drinking from this bowl, it's so large he struggles! And the struggle is considerably less if the bowl is really full, but that shouldn't be a stipulation. Also, the float is an issue bc the hole in the float is way too large, which still allows way too much water to be consumed @ once, so he still aspirates when drinking from this bowl!?! Preventing aspirationis the main reason people need & buy these bowls!1star deducted; The 2 peice float! There has to be a better (1 pc) solution that will help prevent the float from holding water!!? I fully understand ALL pet food & water bowls must be cleaned on a regular basis (I do this daily w stainless bowls.) But, bc this float is 2pcs, can hold water & has a very rough, non slick, raw like plastic surface inside; It causes even more of a concern for growing mold!!! A lot of people may not even notice this & that's potentially very dangerous for pets!!!1star deducted; OVERALL bc this is NOT a product my dog can even use, meaning it's a total loss & complete waste of my money, due to product description inaccuracies!

I have taller pups that I hate seeing them bend down to drink especially when they squat/ crouch kind of. This bowl is pretty durable and stays clean pretty well, but they still dribble a bit around when drinking and I think it's because the bouy part of this doesn't float enough and lets so much water sit at the top thatit's not that much different from a regular water bowl.

We've gone through several water bowls over the years and these are by far the favorite. (we have two of them) The height adjustability and look is why I rated them a full 5 stars. I gave the ease of cleaning only 4 stars because there are quite a few parts that have to be washed when doing a bowl cleansing. That being said, I would make the choice to buy this bowl again every time, because they are just great bowls!

If you have a sloppy drinker 2 very large dogs in our case this is a lifesaver a must have.

I'll take responsibility for not reviewing the dimensions before purchasing. I was looking at a different one, then this one popped up and it was "the one". If you have small dogs, it'll probably be perfect. If you have big dogs, the water bowls you have are probably larger than this one. My sister has a pomeranian, he'll be happy to have a bowl this size! As pictured, it isn't very tall at its highest level, so my dogs have to bend down to drink from it. I will submit a review for it's replacement.
