2023 CarlinKit Wireless CarPlay & Wireless Android Auto for Car with Android Head Unit System 4.4.0+,Built-in APK App,Online Upgrade.

This is my second CarlinKit, and this one’s even better than the last with not having to install. A couple pieces of Velcro on the back of the tablet and installation is done. Bluetooth kicks in right away after first pairing and autokit does the rest.

You might expect this to be a better option than competing wireless CarPlay dongles because it's a "2023" model, and perhaps they've ironed out the issues many of them have. Actually, the opposite is true. I've tried a few of these and this is by far the worst. It is basically useless.It disconnects and reconnects multiple times even during short drives. The screen will suddenly freeze while the music continues to play, and won't start working again until you unplug and replug it. There is such a delay between voices when trying to have a phone conversation that it's not even worth trying, I just switch my phone to standard speakerphone. By far the most annoying issue is that music playback cuts out and skips like a bad CD in the 1990s.Don't waste your money.

Be prepared to make setting modifications in the app you have to download to use this device. When I first started using before I made any changes I would get a lot of random disconnects, audio skips, etc and the device would not register as being plugged in. I’m sure the experience varies depending on what android headunit you have but the only way I could get it to work was troubleshooting and changing settings until the device would function as intended, though I get a few audio skips here and there. Please make sure you keep the app up to date as well to ensure stability. If the device sometimes doesn’t register or your phone is stuck trying to connect for longer than a minute I’d restart the app. Overall it’s not a bad device if you are willing to troubleshoot if it doesn’t work right away.

The Apple CarPlay itself works fine. When tried with external tab, it doesn’t work as expected. It is only recommended for cars that has wired CarPlay.
