Q: How high is the lower edge please?

Lower edge is just over 5 inches high , 7 inches wide

Q: Will kittens be able to climb in aged 8 weeks? Like idea of buying one tray that will last....or do I need two if getting two kittens?

The litter tray has an entry point approximately 130mm ( 5") high off the floor at its lowest point. I believe that a eight week old kitten would be able to enter the tray with perhaps a little difficulty to start with but they soon grow and learn so it should be fine.You could put something down on the floor to make a temporary low step in front of the entry point if they find it too high. The tray is of a good size and so one should suffice for two kittens/cats.
