Just a gem of a book.
I love this boo'ks exploration of the folklore and history for many different types of tree found in the UK. It really is the most informative and charming book I have found on this topic. Fabulous resource for all those with an arboreal interest. Cannot rate this highly enough to all those with an interest in folklore and story telling.

Nice
This is a nice book. Loads of info on types of trees, detailed descriptions and ancient meanings.

Well written and informative
Well written and informative look at native British tree species. Includes detailed identification, history and folklore of each. My only slight criticism is that some of the folklore sections stray off topic a little sometimes.

Ancient tree spirits
This book is one of my all time favourite reference books. If you are into intuitive herbalism/folklore/Druidism/Paganism you will find this book very useful. Full of knowledge it is like a little folklore tree bible.

Good book on tree lore
Good informative coverage of the folk lore of english trees. The author (an arch druid) seems to believe in the folk lore so it's a much warmer book than if it had been written by a folklore academic.

So much more than a tree ID book
I have owned this book for years. A great reference book to add to your collection, relating to so many things to do with trees, myths, stories, beliefs, folklore, cures, their qualities etc. A great easy read, quirky in places, informative throughout.

Perfect
Just what Iโve been looking for. It gives the folklore and myths of all the British trees. A few black and white drawings as illustrations.I would have paid more for this book to be printed on better paper as the amount of research and content deserves better.

Excellent book for anybody interested in folklore, the British Isles and myths.

Not well published
The book is pretty, but has a cheap-feeling cover, and the words go into the spine which makes it very difficult to read comfortably. Has many interesting facts, though it's quite woo, but for educational purposes I would recommend.

Baslangic seviyesi

a * t r u e * g e m ~
i *almost* bought a different 'tree wisdom' book ~~~ until i had an astonishing dream which warned it would prove more of a decorative 'bauble' than a substantive read. this one? absolutely : w o n d e r f u l : its richly researched : well written : heart~centric : poetic : & carefully breaks down each tree covered into sections such as 'botanical' / 'mythological' / 'magical' / 'herbal uses' / 'inspirational', which lends a fluid structure to the whole. for me, one can really sense the author's deep Druidic studies & personal roots in the writing & her very animated living relationship to the trees in question. a true gem. { & definitely NO 'bauble'! }
