BLACK+DECKER Replacement Blade Set For Electric Hand Saw, Navigator Models, 3-Piece (74-598)

I am not a big fan of Black & Decker tools. My view is that they design and market for occasional home do it yourselfers not serious tool lovers. Their prices are attractive though. I do own several Black and Decker tools I can't be without. One is a stick battery Dremel like tool I have owned for donkeys years as the Scots say. Another is a stick battery operated Scrub Buster. Thank goodness I can still find these stick batteries. Being a senior woman with diminishing physical abilities I needed a garden and shop saw with more strength than my hands can muster. One son cautioned me against buying a chain saw for the garden. Probably wise on his part. As is my norm I searched Amazon for a solution. The Navigator Saw came up with many fabulous reviews so I ordered one. It works a treat! I have used my saw in the garden with success and in the house to remove two room dividers. It perfectly but not wildly allows me to keep handy using these older limbs. I was afraid it would be too aggressive for me or hard to handle. Not so at all. It is a good weight and simply does the job without kickback, jerks or negative issues. Yes this tool set is perfect with my handy Navigator. Thanks Black and Decker!!

My wife bought the gator saw for me for Christmas a few years ago. Of course my brother in laws made fun of it because it wasn't a Sawzall. I had every intention to taking it back. Well inedibally someone opened it and I decided to use it. I wasn't disappointed. Great saw. I've never had a second thought. I'm on my second set of replacement blades and it is still going strong. Several aspects of the saw I prefer over a Sawzall.

Back in 2010 I purchased this Black and Decker Navigator at a yard sale for $5.00 US Dollars. I was surprised to find tool replacement parts for the Navigator online, the tool was discontinued and first up in finding tool replacement, was Amazon. I have cut thru metal over 1/4 inch thick and cut down tree's 8 inches in diameter. I'm a "do it yourself guy" and I value the tools I have and I get all the parts I need from Amazon. If you are lucky to find a Black and Decker Navigator, BUY IT DON"T PASS IT UP, Amazon as all the replacements that tool uses and they work extremely well.

We have used this small saw, which includes three interchangeable blades, for more than five years and it still works fine. The saw has been used to trimmed trees, bushes and also cut down small trees ( with trunks no more than 4 or 5 inches in diameter.) It's useful for other projects as well, such as cutting trim & other smaller lumber for interior use & also one of the blades cuts metal. We purchased the saw locally but found the store does not stock replacement blades. Fortunately, Amazon does stock these blades so we can easily obtain them.

The blades fit my Black and Decker tool perfectly. The quality of the blades are good.

I have had a Navigator for years and probably use it more harshly than it was designed to handle. These blades put up with my abuse pretty well and always get the job done. I hope to see these around for quite some time. Keep in mind that the Navigator isn't meant to be some giant chainsaw, so if you're trying to use it to saw down large trees, of course it is going to be inefficient. It works well on small branches and helps with cutting up whatever limbs fall down after a storm. If I had a limb that was over 10-12" in diameter, I'd likely find another tool, but this works great for our typical storm debris that is usually 1-4" in diameter.

BEWARE these are NOT authorized black and decker. The image shows an authorized officially licensed version. What I recieved was not. I reached out to black and decker and they provided me authentic replacement and will go after this vendor for falsely claiming to sell their merchandise.
