Sparkle (3PK) - Clear Overlay

Lovely sparkle over lay for crafts I add to my cards it’s very light shimmer and looks lovely

I needed a little bit of bling on the stamps I had been blending but didn't want to use the Sakura pens that I normally use as they can be a little heavy on delicate images, so did a search to see if Spectrum Noir did any. Found these Overlay pens which were clear as I wanted to be able to use them on any colour that I needed glamming up. These are not like your regular Spectrum Noir pens as they have a rubbery bit that you have to gently squeeze to get the glitter to come out into the brush. It's perfect when you get the hang of it but initially I squeezed too hard and it sent way too much out. You need to gently squeeze these, gently, so a little dribble comes out on the brush, then wipe that onto another piece of paper before you attempt to highlight what you have drawn or coloured. Apart from that they are beautiful and don't give you too much sparkle, just a little shimmer which is lovely for what I needed. I don't know whether or not I'd buy the coloured versions though but these are lovely over any colour so I'm happy.

The brush loaded up nicely and had a fine point so it was quite easy to paint even details with, though I guess not if you wanted something really pin-point accurate. I like the subtle shimmery effect. The sparkle is evenly distributed but the shiny particles are much tinier than regular glitter and some users may have preferred something more “in your face”. The tone is cool, frosty, not golden. My photo is from testing the pen on plain white paper. I’m giving four stars, not five, because the pens were a little bit expensive and the effect is a just little bit meh.

I love these pens and they have replaced my usual brand for adding sparkle. I haven't encountered any problems with the pens, as long as you shake and squeeze carefully and regularly, you get lots of sparkle. I used them extensively on my Christmas cards this year and the shimmer/glitter stayed put on all the surfaces I used them on (even on glossy Hunky dory cardstock and little book paper). I like the brush nib, it allowed me to cover large areas and also more precise application. I've used the first pen a lot but still no sign of it running out, so I am really pleased with quality and value for money.

I bought this clear sparkle overlay set of 3 pens to use in crafting/cardmaking but there are other colours available. I use them with all different alcohol ink pens not only Spectrum Noir pens. I struggled to get it to work and after a bit of shaking and patience I was very pleased with the results. You don't need too much and it glides on to the stamped images that I overlayed with this sparkle and the results were amazing. It takes a bit of practice to get it right. I initially put too much on and it didn't look right then once I got the hang of it the effort was worth the wait. It gives a very fine glitter mist to your image. You need to shake the pens and remove the spacer. I have been using the same pen from the set of 3 and it seems to last a long time.

Good value pack. Love the subtle effect on greeting cards and crafts. Intensity increases when layering .

These add a wonderful splash of glitter to any paper based work. The brush enables detailing and easy application. However the glitter doesn't adhere for very long once dry and either travels along the page of comes off on contact. It's a shame and hopefully this will be improved in the future as they could be fab.

They are the best glitter pens I have ever had. I have three coloured pens but I like the clear pens better. I would purchased them again in the future.

I really LOVE, and I mean LOVE these glitter pens. The colors are so vibrant, and the shimmer is just beautiful. I have a rule that I will not give glitter cards (to people I really like....hahah) because of the ensuing mess. This glitter does NOT come off. I originally purchased these in a twelve-pack from Home Shopping Network.I loved them, but decided the cost for that number of pens was prohibitive for me. I was delighted to find the three packs on Amazon....what can't you find here? Thee colors are just beautiful, and very versatile for my cardmaking and coloring. I did not have any of the leaking, messy problems that others mentioned. I just squeezed them very gently until ink flowed. I, perhaps, got an initial small glop, but nothing to get my drawers in a bunch about! Very happy with these, and will continue to treat myself and and to my collection!

Lo compre pensando que era opaco, pero es muy transparente y deja un tono brillante sobre cualquier medio, yo lo he usado con colores, acuarelas, acrílicos y corticos, el resultado es muy interesante. Solo no es permanente cuando tocas la imagen algo de la brillantina se te queda en los dedos.

vraiment très très beau produit, avec des paillettes très fines mais donne une très bon rendu!!couleurs très clairs!!
