5 Stars all the way.
Update - review was based on 600g container. Now a much smaller container so no longer the same value.I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to any scale on products. My water is softened in my house, but obviously not drinking water. Over the years I've spent a small fortune on descaling products which usually take a while to react, give off noxious fumes and seem to remain in the appliance even after many rinses.I found this last week after a long search and attracted by the price placed my order. A few days later package arrived and pleasantly surprised by the excellent packaging. The tub is very well security sealed and then has an inner lid to keep moisture out and avoid spills. Inside there is a small scoop and obviously the product which is a powder not tablet which is fine as it dissolves quicker. My main scale magnet is my De'Longhi espresso machine. Which gets really noisy when it's due a clean. I added 500ml of water and 2 scoops of product to the reservoir and turned on. Allowing approx half of the water to run through into a jug, I then poured this into my kettle. Within approx 30 seconds the bottom of my kettle was shiny again. Now what amazed me was, there is very little smell. I got some on my hands it didn't burn (which Oust does)So I left my espresso machine for 30 mins, ran through again till the full 500ml was used then rinsed twice.I made an espresso which came through lovely. Now usually after descaling I can taste the acid. This time nothing, just coffee. So works very well, no smell or residue, cost effective, safe(er)than other products. And finally easy to dispense, so cleaner to use.I've already recommended this to friends and family and will continue to.

I had the old versioni and it worked not tried the new version yet but I am due a top up
Works extremely well - probably the quickest and easiest kettle cleaner I have used. Be warned however, follow the instructions PRECISELY. I ruined my first kettle by not following the instructions - my fault entirely - as I bought exactly the same new kettle and it has kept it completely clean ever since.I use it every few weeks roughly, I'm in Scotland so water is likely not as bad as the rest of UK.I've had the same tub for a few years but I notice now the quantity is now not the same and supposedly the effectiveness has changed too. I am due a top up so will review it again when I buy and try the new version.

Pot was smaller than expected but it works well.
Descaling a kettle is easy with this product and effective. My only qualm is that I refill and boil the kettle a couple of times before using for tea; and in that time I can see lime scale already building up in the kettle!!

Also cleans limescale from toilets really well.
I got this specially to try as an alternative to 'spirit of salt' (hydrochloric acid) to remove unsightly limescale stains from a toilet bowl. For anyone that does not know the only effective way to do that is with a fairly strong acid and on vitreous enamel like a toilet bowl which is basically a glass-like glaze on porcelain that is a safe thing to do as long as you wash the acid away with plenty of water afterwards and never, ever mix with anything else such as bleach which can result in poisonous chlorine gas being given off. 'Spirit of salt' is effective but it is a very hazardous chemical to handle so I though I would try something safer. I removed as much water as possible from the bowl and then added 2 litres of boiling hot water with the appropriate amount of CalSolve, 8 scoops. I left it for about an hour and gave it a good scrub before flushing well. It worked a treat. It had removed all the limescale staining leaving a sparking white bowl. I know it is not what the product is designed for but it does the job which I know is a problem for a lot of people and it is not an unduly risky or unpleasant product to use.

Disappointing performance
I was skeptical when I read the description of no acids, since traditional descalers very effectively use an acid to react with the limescale. You see the effervescence as it works, leaving a clean kettle behind but I was inspired by the description that it will “surpass ALL analogous products”.Some reviews stated “it does not work” some “it’s the best thing ever” so I took a chance as it looked affordable (if it worked) as you get many doses in a bottle. I agree now with the former: it does not work, at least not noticeably well. After following the instructions on the pack I was able to see a few flakes of scale lift from the base of the kettle. I repeated the application and used a larger quantity and a few more flakes lifted off. Despite the high temperature of the water and the concentration of the solution and leaving for several minutes to work, there was no more impact.A teaspoon of citric acid from the cupboard and 1boil later and the kettle is squeaky clean. I do not recommend this product.

Granules that need a scoop NOT tablets as stated
As descalers go this one is expensive but what attracted me was the headline TABLETS.So thinking all I had to do was pop in a tablet I bought them. When I opened the container and found they were granules I had to check the advert again.Sure enough when you read through all the posts and literature you can see they are granules; so why highlight the heading with the word TABLET?Now granules are fine if you're prepared for them however whilst the instructions are clear about avoiding skin contact they are in VERY tiny print and the scoop is buried in the granules.I only wish advertisers would stop misleading us with these adverts.I take tablets and I use tablets for my internet but none of them are this small.A minor point but it did cause me trouble with the principle user; the wife.I chose this product because TABLETS would have been easier to handle and far safer. Now I have to find and wear protective gloves whilst I fiddle with a tiny scoop buried in the granules.Would like to give it five stars but only used it the once.It certainly acted faster than other products we've used but no better than the Ritchies (brewers) CITRIC ACID I've used before which comes in 500 gram plastic containers and cost around £6.
