Pros: 1. The bodies and springs are strong and should last a long time. 2. They are easily cleaned and should not rust. 3. The grip strength is far stronger than that of plastic clips. Cons: 1. Two or three clips side-by-side are needed for larger bags. 2. The silicon jaw coverings will stick together if you don't place something between them. (Thick paper, plastic or flat wood sticks (from ice cream bars or frozen fruit bars) work well.) 3. The jaw coverings are glued to the jaws and they probably won't survive as long as the clips will. 4. Keep these away from very young children because they could easily cause injuries. They are not toys!

I was tired of the plastic chip clips breaking on me, so I decided to get metal ones...and then I read the reviews on the metal ones, where many people complained about sharp edges and getting their fingers sliced open - not for me! I was resigned to ordering more plastic ones when I found these. I was hesitant to buy them, because they didn't have any reviews, but I decided to take a chance, and I couldn't be more pleased. They are small, compared to my plastic ones, at only about 3", but they have far superior clamping power and keep even my large potato chip bag closed. And no sharp edges - the silicone-covered edges do the job. I have only been using these about a week, but so far, I am very pleased - time will tell if they hold up. And, a great buy for a package of 12.

I purchased these same clips made by House Again in 2020 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L3RWPG5, but with magnets attached to the handles. I specifically wanted clips with magnets since when they are not being used I like to keep them on the side of my fridge instead of storing in a drawer. And I originally chose these clips since they used neodymium magnets and were riveted on and thus was highly unlikely to fall off like I have experienced with the cheaper black ferrous magnets on other clips I have used. Unfortunately they seem to have discontinued the House Again clips with magnets attached, or at least that is what the customer rep I talked to said. I tried to find an alternative but it seems like finding a high quality clip that is wide and also has neodymium magnets attached is quite difficult. Especially if you also add having silicone covering the clip tips.Since I couldn't buy them, I decided to purchase the version of House Again clips that didn't come with magnets and attach magnets on my own. I basically took the clips, some neodymium magnets that came with 3M adhesive attached and bonded them together. I also took the extra step of using medium grit sandpaper and roughing up the surface I was planning to attach the magnet to and using rubbing alcohol to remove any oils along with any metal pieces from the sandpaper; I am pretty sure this process would have worked just as well without prepping the surface like that, but I wanted to make sure the bond strength was as strong as possible.I have used the clips for a month or so and so far have not had any of the magnets fall off when taking them off of the fridge where I am storing them when not in use. I also noticed that I can attach bags that weigh up 6-8 ounces without any issue.

Bravo to this manufacturer. I use these on chips , to hold paper towels over my prepared food, I use to hold the dog food closed. Anything I need to hold together I grab one of these. They haven’t broken or split like others always do. Only thing, the rubber slips off after repeated use, but it just slides back on piece of cake. A++ 👍🏻👍🏻
