Nice quality
I think these line chafe guards are under rated, they are better then more expensive ones out there. I also like how they are 24" long compared to others 18" length. So far so good, I'm pleased.

Northgear Chafe Guards
Anyone with a boat that docks in stormy areas knows chafing dock lines can be an issue. I've used rubber tubing and pieces of fire hose in the past, but wanted to give these a try. The chafe guards are made from a velcro-like loop covering on the outside and a non-woven polyethylene like fabric on the inside. Also on the inside are two strips of velcro-like hook fastener strips. The velcro allows for easy installation without untying the dock line, you simply wrap around the line and secure with the velcro strip. The second hook strip seems to prevent the guard from sliding along the line. They seem capable of supporting a variety of line sizes for smaller and larger boats. The loop covering is fairly soft, so it shouldn't scratch or mar the hull, however, I can see it might collect dirt and debris so they will need to be cleaned periodically or they may end up scratching the hull. They seem capable of performing their function of preventing chafe, but probably won't last as long as something more sturdy such as fire hose segments...so if this is used for hurricane prep, it might wear through in a rough storm...but that is the purpose chafe protection...to save the dock line.Overall, they seem like an easy to use option that should help prevent wear of dock lines. I will update this review if I note any issues after more use, but so far, can recommend them as a reasonable protection for your dock lines.

Must have for lines that chafe
As far as chafe guards go, these are pretty good. They are long enough for most applications, and easily store as they are flexible material. The material is soft on the outside so there is less damage from rubbing on other surfaces. They do stay closed well as there is a velcro strip that runs the length of the pad. The stitching is good and durable. The only con I can see is they can slide once on a line, and I solved that by putting a cut bike tire tube inside.

Nice, heavy-duty dockline protection
Very nice heavy duty chafe guards- something I have a lot of experience with, having a 39’ sailboat in a very exposed slip subject to a LOT of wind and wave action. My previous best chafe solution has been cut lengths of fire-hose covers slipped over the dock lines and fastened in place. That works well, but these have a few advantages:1) They velcro on from the sides, so can be fastened to your lines in any position even if (as I do) you have spliced eyes at the ends. This means you don’t have to install the chafe guard ahead of splicing, and you can easily reposition them. Time will tell, but I don’t worry much about the velcro, as it won’t be opened and closed often. I expect it to last as long as the rest of the material.2) The can handle a variety of sizes of lines- they claim 1/2” up to 2”, and that seems about right- though if you need 2” docklines you are probably in a different market entirely…. I have them on 5/8” to 3/4” lines and they fit easily.3) They are a lot more spiffy looking than my fire hose chafe guards.I’ll probably use these for my “travel” docklines rather than my fixed lines, as the flexibility of positioning is a real plus in that context.

Quality Material
My boat was already in winter storage by the time I got these. I put them on my dock lines, and they fit well. They are made of a durable quality material. I will do a part 2 to this review when the boat goes back in this spring and I am actually using them.

Quality Protection For 1" rope
Thick padded sleeve with soft outer shell, Velcro to secure the guard to the rope. Easy installation. This seems like a very good set of chafe guards for a good price.
