* Attached pictures were taken one week after I did my nails. This was my FIRST attempt using a powder dip kit, so it’s not perfect.This kit is great for beginners; it’s easy to use, long-lasting and is much cheaper than going to the salon.I normally do my own no-chip gel manicures, and became quite good at it over time. However, I recently had the powder dip done at the salon and LOVED it, but it was expensive. Compared to doing my own no-chip gel manicure at home, I prefer using the powder dip. However, here are a few tips that were helpful.1.) To remove: I purchased the remover from Amazon (It was in a polish container). I ‘roughed up’ nail surface with an electric nail drill, applied the remover, left on about 10 min., then gently scraped off (I used a nail tool designed for this). You may have to do two coats. I DO NOT use the ‘nail clips’ that some people/professionals use to remove. The electric nail drill I used was just a cheap $10 one, nothing fancy. before applying the remover, which made it SUPER easy to remove.2.) I prepped my nails per directions. I used the electric nail drill to ‘lightly scuff up’ my nail (be careful not to damage your nail if you do this) and pushed back my cuticles before I started the application process.3.) What I did differently than directions stated: Before applying the finishing/top coat, I used the nail drill to get that ‘smooth look’ you get at the salon (so much easier than filing manually). Instead of using the top coat that came with this powder dip kit, I used the top coat from my no-chip gel nail kit that requires a UV lamp (this is what they did at the nail salon when I had them done). 2 weeks later my nails look like I just had them done; no chipping, peeling, etc. I have not tried the top coat in this powder dip kit yet, so I can’t speak to it’s durability.One thing I’ll do differently next time:I will not apply product so close to my cuticles. It was not as thick as I thought it would be; it was more runny, or maybe I used too much product, and it ended up on my cuticle (you can tell in the pictures what I’m referring to). I believe it may have been the top coat that caused this effect, but I’ll be careful with all steps next time to not apply as close/on top of my cuticles. I could’ve also used the nail drill to fix it, but my hand is not that steady to do such a small space, I was afraid to mess it up.Edited to add: I tried a second time and added one top coat that came with the kit, then added one clear, no-chip top coat and put nails under the UV light for 120 seconds (which also took away the ‘grainy’ look that some people mentioned they were left with in the reviews). I’ll do it this way from now on. Pictures of this are the lighter pink color.

I like how strong my nails are with this dipping powder. Also, when I had acrylic nails, I would get chemical burns on my fingertips so I couldn’t do them anymore. I don’t know what happened if they changed the chemical compound or if my body changed, but I couldn’t do acrylic nails anymore sadly. I do these dipping powder nails a lot, unfortunately, sometimes I get impatient with the removal process and I just tear them off which is a bad thing. It destroys your nails.

While it's easy to use and I love this dip set, it's strong and hard to get off! Which makes it better for not losing your nails and lasting longer. But if you have a harsh color it's harder to get off and can stain. It's best to use translucent first and then a color to prevent that.

UPDATED:Unfortunately, this dip doesn't last. It looks great at first and goes on easily but it cracks very quickly. The longest I've been able to keep them looking new is 5 days. I did my nails this last weekend on Friday and by Sunday they looked horrible.Original Review:I just did my nails so we’ll see how long it last but I’m extremely happy with the outcome. I’ve never done dips myself before, first try. I love having dips done at the salon but it’s so expensive and the techs end up destroying my nails. For $32 I got this kit and a nail drill. It would have been $60 at the salon and I think I did as good of a job. So far very happy. PS I did use a light to set the gel top coat.

This wasn’t a good idea! I am so mad at myself that I didn’t go to nail salon or just didn’t use shellac at home!This product is EXTREMELY hard to use! The guidance says it takes 60 seconds to dry! It us a lie! I am sitting for the last 15,20 minutes and it’s still wet! After the top gel gets dried it gets bubbles and not smooth anymore I don’t know why because when I applied it was smooth!The base gel application is so hard and gets lumpy… my whole table is powdered and messy because the white container is so small and useless! I hated the whole process and am going to remove it now! Don’t buy it!

I’ve been getting dip manicures in a salon twice a month for the past year. It’s time consuming and costly but I love the outcome. I decided to try doing it myself and this was my first experience. I’m absolutely thrilled. The cost for this set plus all the accessories I needed cost less than one dip set in a salon and I can likely get 50+ manicures out of this. I took my time and it probably took about two hours start to finish (including tips) - but it often takes about that long to drive to the salon, be there for the appointment, and drive home. I am so glad I made this leap!

I love how easy it was to use. The instructions are clear & come with illustrations which is super helpful. The amount of things you get for the price is incredible. You get many uses out of each dip color. The only down side that I find with it all, is that there is not enough liquid in the bottles (activator, top gel, base). You will have to buy extra. Other than that, I highly recommend it. I’m on day 2 so far and no chipping considering how often I wash my hands.
