Hip Hip HORI !!!
The HORI Switch LAN adapter provides a convenient solution for Nintendo Switch gamers seeking a faster and more stable online experience. As an officially licensed product by Nintendo, this adapter aims to enhance your gameplay by leveraging the reliability of a wired internet connection. One of the primary advantages of this LAN adapter is its ability to bypass the limitations of wireless connectivity, offering a direct and dedicated wired connection to your router. This can be particularly beneficial for online multiplayer games, where a stable and low-latency connection is crucial for a smooth gaming experience, free from the potential interference or fluctuations associated with wireless signals.Setting up the HORI LAN adapter is designed to be a straightforward process. Simply plug the adapter into the Nintendo Switch dock, and connect it to your router using an Ethernet cable (not included). This streamlined setup allows you to quickly establish a high-speed wired internet connection, enabling you to dive into your online gaming sessions without the hassle of complex configurations. While the product description doesn't provide specific details regarding the adapter's performance or data transfer rates, the official licensing from Nintendo ensures compatibility and optimized functionality with the Switch console. This level of certification provides assurance that the adapter will seamlessly integrate with your gaming setup, minimizing potential compatibility issues or performance bottlenecks. It's worth noting that the HORI LAN adapter does not include an Ethernet cable, which means you'll need to acquire one separately to complete the wired connection. However, this separate purchase allows you to choose a cable length that best suits your setup and accommodates the distance between your Switch dock and router.Overall, the HORI Switch LAN adapter presents a compelling option for Nintendo Switch gamers seeking a more reliable and low-latency online gaming experience. With its official licensing, ease of setup, and the promise of a stable wired connection, this adapter could be a worthwhile investment for those looking to enhance their online multiplayer gameplay or seamlessly download large game files without interruptions.

Better than Switch WiFi!
Really useful when WiFi is in high demand in your household! The adapter allows faster communication over the web as well, which is a bonus when playing the Switch online, as it allows more stable connectivity than WiFi normally does. It works really well and I would recommend using this over the inbuilt WiFi any day of the week.

100Mb adapter
For the price I'd expect 1Gb speeds but I guess Nintendo didn't think this through, this being USB 3 an' all...Still, it works fine, doesn't really impact me all that much. But USB3... Ethernet converter... It doesn't cost much more to throw in 1Gb

It Worked For Me
I have a Nintendo Switch I thought I would try this as WIFi speed is bad normally I get 4MB tried today and getting 19.7MB speed connected the LAN adapter now getting 51.7MB still not as fast as it should be but a lot faster than just using WIFI even the upload speed is double the speed.

Fixed lag issue.
I bought this after experiencing severe lag whilst playing Super Smash Brothers Ultimate online with several friends living fairly close to me.Short story: It fixed the lag.*You may need to go into your settings and select "Wired Connection" while the Switch is docked.More details:My router supports 802.11ac and I have fibre internet. The router achieves around 400-700Mbps via WLAN depending on the device connected, and there are approximately 10 devices connected wirelessly. The router is capable of 1Gbps on a wired connection using a Cat5e or above cable. The Switch is connected using the 5GHz band when on wireless. The connection test via the Switch reports the same internet download/upload speed for wired and wireless. Thus, it was deduced that a wireless connection did not impact the internet speed available to it. The difference laid in the stability of that connection. Also consider that on wireless, the electrical signals are transduced into radio waves thus increasing latency.Testing for approximately 10 minutes with a friend in Europe who also has fibre internet, there was no perceived lag for either of us when using a wired connection.Testing the wired connection with friends closer to me, we tried several stages; large stages, stages with animation in the background, scrolling stages, and stages that morph, yet the experience was no different to a local match. We tried 1v1 and 4v4 which did not affect the quality of the connection.Previously, on wireless, the lag made the game virtually unplayable online. It also impacted the NES online 2 player mode rather detrimentally, but did not affect Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to any noticable degree.Further testing showed significant improvements when using a wired connection and employing some higher level gameplay techniques in Smash. We tried perfect shield, dash cancelling, and "tech"-ing off rebounds. All worked as expected, thus strongly confirming this device delivered on its promise for me.When reading other reviews, I felt compelled to write a more thorough and analytical review in the hopes of aiding others considering purchasing this peripheral, because £25 for an adapter isn't cheap!

Best to go with Licensed stuff
Bought a cheaper USB to LAN adapter for my Switch which was incompatible with it causing a bit of frustration, especially with the length of the cable being unable to fit inside the back of the Dock. This Adapter, however, is designed especially for the Switch so it fits comfortably in the back of the Dock and required no further setup once it was plugged in really.Online play feels a lot smoother now and Download speeds have increased significantly (as to be expected of a wired connection) so I couldn't recommend this adapter enough!
