Chimsoc - Small Rectangle - Balloon For Chimney Up To 38cm x 23cm (15"x9")

I fitted this some time ago and since have found up the living room to be so much cosier, with no draughts. I haven't had to 'top-up' the Chimsoc yet, as others found, despite checking it once a week to see if it had lost some air, and it hasn't. It is so easy to install and I am amazed it makes such a difference. We haven't had to have the fire on once in the evening so we're saving on the energy bills too.What I didn't consider as a benefit before using was also the reduction in outside noise. Last night there was lots of noise from fireworks but they seemed so much further away this year as the sound had to travel through the double glazing instead of also down the chimney. Wish I'd bought one years ago!

Simply a heavy-duty plastic bag that you inflate to block an unused chimney. You need to check the size of your flue as the item comes in different sizes but, with the right size, it's very effective. Like all items with a valve, it does require checking occasionally to make sure it hasn't deflated but if it has, it is easy to top up the air using the long 'blow tube' it comes with. (You might wish to keep the tube attached but for cosmetic reasons we have detached it and keep it in a labelled zip-loc bag). Our Chimsoc needs topping up may be twice a year and then only a few puffs to keep it snug in the flue.

When this arrived I was a little sceptical of what to expect, as it seemed a slightly odd idea ... but it noticeably worked.Our living room had an open fireplace straight up to an open chimney, unfortunately these was no set up for a wood burner.The room often got cold and cost a lot to heat, after looking at our options I discovered the Chimsoc.To inflate it you just follow the easy instructions which was very easy to understand.Instantly we noticed heat was not being lost for the room and for the first time we felt truly cosy.I would recommend this product to others, just make sure you measure the space and but the correct size.

After years of experiencing nasty downdraft when the wind blows in a certain direction, peace at last. The room is warmer, no precious heat escaping up the chimney. The soc is easy to install and remove. This is a good product as everything comes with it, included in the price. We have kept the soc "soft" as the chimney aperture is small to make it fit successfully. I have no issue with recommending this product as it certainly does the job.

Fitted much better than I thought it was. My chimney measured on the upper limits of the chimsoc dimensions, but when inflated it fits perfectly in the chimney. Fell down once, due to having inflated it by mouth (i.e. warm air in, warm air cools, pressure in chimsoc falls slightly) but has stayed up fine since then. Waiting for the really cold weather before we can tell the difference.

Arrived on time, bit difficult to put in chimney as you have to put it in half blown and then blow the rest up as its in there, the tube is long enough but if you haven't got long arms then you can't close the valve that is at the top of the tube once the ballooon is in position. I have to keep pushing the balloon up to keep it in position, but when it is in the right place it definitely keeps the draught out

Excellent - we have had a drafty lounge and snug for years. I did not even consider that it could have been the chimneys as we have old windows and solid walls but noticed a marked reduction in the drafts when the balloons were fitted. Very easy fitting and works a treat - Our chimneys are not large and the products fits, if you have a larger flue, then they may not be quite as effective.

This has helped immensely. We have a very old, very small (tiny actually) fireplace in our bedroom that we don't use. The floor was SO cold near the fireplace area, and so we purchased this hoping it would be small enough to fit our small fireplace. It worked like a charm! The floor is much warmer. I noticed a huge improvement within a couple days.
