More Fun From Arkwright's Shop
Series 2 of this very enjoyable, lighthearted and funny TV sitcom continues where Series 1ended with more light hearted stories from Arkwright's grocery and general store set inDoncaster.Granville is still trying to matchmake between Gastric (Tim Healy) and the man-hating Madgewhile not making much progress with Mavis. Mrs. Featherstone (Stephanie Cole) has becomea total control freak after taking newcomer Mr Newbold under her wing, and Leroy (James Baxter)delivers more than groceries to the local housewives.Arkwright (Ronnie Barker) may no longer be with us, but he makes his presence felt with the dodgycash register and ghost looming over everything, While Granville (Sir David Jason) holds the fort.Smiles and amusement all round.BBC Worldwide 2015Running time 175 minutesSubtitled in English

A warm and welcoming tribute...
Like the first of this series - it's a warm and welcoming tribute to the original Ronnie Barker series, without trying to mimic the past. Some things have moved on, other stayed the same (much like life). The old and new sit well together as the world passes by.

I only bought series 2 after reading some bad reviews on the third series
I only bought series 2 after reading some bad reviews on the third series. Well, #2 is great. The format has changed a bit from the original for the better. Not 100% of the series is focused in the store, and at times more like Last of the Summer Wine when the women get together for tea.I know that I'll buy the additional series if for no other reason that regardless of critics, Roy Clarke doesn't write a bad show.

Good Fun!!
Better than I expected. "Open All Hours" with Ronnie Barker is a tough act to follow, but this is doing as well !! Complete with Arkwright's vicious, finger biting till and some of the old cliches plus new material too. 8.5/10.

Enjoyable.
Sometimes I think Granville's new sidekick acts like he's on a children's programme and I'm almost waiting for a glove puppet to appear over his shoulder.

Brilliantly, hilariously funny
Almost as good as the original. I only say almost because I can't get my head round the fact there's no Ronnie Barker. Some familiar storyline have been given a modern twist but mostly it's new stuff. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this. Bring on the next two series

Brilliant comedy with no smut
Classic David Jason. I wondered how the series would bridge the gap after the Open all Hours series with Ronnie Barker. This is priceless and marvellous to see all the old faces. Brilliant comedy with no smut.
