I have had the S8 Ultra for a week and think it’s an excellent tablet with a high quality screen. I bought the 256GB model, with 5G and Wi-Fi for a great price on Prime day recently. It was around £500 cheaper than the equivalent iPad Pro. I also have a 2nd generation iPad Pro, which was affordable 5 years ago, but the prices have shot up massively.If one likes Android …same operating system as used on virtually all phones that aren’t iPhones…. and one like a high quality big screen, then I can definitely recommend this tabletPlus points- The screen quality is excellent. I like viewing all my digital photographs on a big screen and they look fantastic on it. Streaming TV and videos is also great.- The 3:2 screen dimensions are a benefit compared to the IPad Pro, which is 4:3. It’s the same height at 7.75 inches, but 2 inches wider at nearly 12 1/2 inches. This extra width is useful in split screen mode and I have found that cut/pasting from one spreadsheet to another is easier.- Android actually allows side by side spreadsheets in split screen using the Google spreadsheet app Sheets. IOS on IPad doesn’t let me, or I haven’t found a way yet.- Android is slightly more flexible than IOS on the IPad in my opinion, although they are both very good operating systems.Negative points- this is a big device and it’s probably a bit heavier than the iPad Pro. Some people will find it just too big to be used handheld. I took the time to investigate and buy a good case and this has helped a lot. Using it on top of a small cushion, either on my lap or on the arm of my armchair has made it OK for me.- Some Android apps are clearly built for mobile phones and only operate in the portrait format. Operating the S8 ultra in that orientation isn’t comfortable for long periods.- The setup dialogue on this device mentioned ‘your new phone’ on more than one occasion. Well I suppose technically it is a phone because it has 5G, but it is just another example of Android not quite being fully there supporting tablets.

This is the best for my usecases. Can read and markup ebooks, manuals & docs in portrait mode with no scrolling. Sound for classical music streams is not Bose but very good. Samsung Dex gives me desktop- level apps and tiled windows for productivity apps. Zoom/Teams has very good mic and speaker quality. Stylus and Onenote make notetaking and whiteboarding easy. Extra year of software updates reassured me this s8+ tablet will be usable in 2026. There are cheaper alternatives, but if you value your time, invest in good tools... this will save you a lot. Shut up and take the red pill Neo.

Does exactly what I need for a tablet, really fast, great screen and the s-pen is actually really handy

A good tab, good screen quality nice to have the pen, but very disappointed I decided to upgrade from other tablets and have several phone chargers non fitted this so had to buy a plug separately. As the days and months go on I'll see just how good it really is.....

Got this at a fantastic price! It does the job for a gaming mad 7 year old.The only issue I would say we have is that it sometimes out of the blue disconnects from the WiFi and then connects again about a minute lateR.Nothing to do with our WiFi connection as this is the only tablet it’s happening too. Internet working perfect so not sure what the issue is.Other than that, seems to work well.

So I have recently purchased the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra 512gb after months of research, I was super excited to receive my Tablet.The tablet it's self I would give it a solid 4 out of 5, reason not for the maximum score of 5 is that Android still a way behind in optimising their apps for tablets. With many still operating and locked in to portrait mode. You can override and make them landscape but they are displayed like a phone screen on portrait mode with a landscape background.The main issue is as this is £1500 premium device I wanted to insure it samsungs care plus policy.The problem being, is the serial number is for a device that is from Germany.Therefore I can't insure it as its not from the UK.This was bought from Amazon UK, I'm sure they must be breaking some sort of law.as I was not told it was a German registered device.For me this 80% amazons fault and 20% samsungs fault.Yet again the consumer is the one who losses out.I have told amazon about this but they don't have a clue what I'm talking about and keep putting me onto samsung.
