A Mixed Bag Overall - Yet Utterly Glorious Gameplay!
The game this year is very much a mixed bag, and yet I cannot stop playing! The issues with this game are that the game content wise is incomplete - the latest transfers won't be taken care of until late October, 2 months after the game initially released and that is not only unacceptable but it's a mickey take. Also the keepers are broken online in MyClub especially, same as the matchmaking filters in that mode and yeah basically MyClub isn't a patch on FUT and it's a very frustrating mode to play on right now. But offline against the AI or friend the game is simply epic! So fluid and free flowing. Sliding tackles are brilliant, passing as ever is amazing, crossing can whip some right balls into the box and shot wise can score some belters! Players are more true to life regarding stats and play styles. The game is not all about pace and wing play or ball over the top which let's be honest is what Fifa ends up being all about. There's a ton of depth to PES. And things you wouldn't think would make a big difference make a huge difference to how a match plays out, for example Player Emotions if you choose high for both sides on this value in the pre match options page you'll have a cracker of a football match on your hands. Leave it to random and it might be a scrappy affair. Another thing with PES is the difficulty, you put it on say Top Player or Superstar difficulty which is the hardest difficulty in the game - you play a friendly match and you'll probably win your fair share and think this needs more challenge...but then you play a competitive match on the same difficulty against the same AI say a Champions League tie or a league fixture with 3 points at stake and it's a whole different story! You'll have to earn the right to play....and every single point you claim! Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is worth a serious look by anybody, whether you fall in or out of love with it though is on the individual. One thing is for sure though this game this year will convert many in either direction. It is a mixed bag overall, but I will say this on pure gameplay alone this thing gives you that 1 more match compulsion and it's a beast when it comes to offline game modes and a responsive, refined, thrilling game of football! I for one can not stop playing it and I'll be honest I rate PES 2016 far and away over FIFA 16 in terms of offline gameplay in terms of fun, thrills and true to life and that was from when I'd played both demos!

The King has returned, all hail the King
Like a lot of folk I turned to FIFA due to PES being in the decline, the gameplay was becoming slow and sludgy (probably trying to Emulate FIFA) but every year I always download the Demos and seeing as PES was out first on the PS4 I gave it a try!!! WOW first off the Graphics are sumptuous, I mean probably the best looking football game I’ve ever seen, and players actually look like players imagine that!!! First impressions were the passing was fast, clean and crisp it really feels like you can get some weight behind each pass / shot. The Gameplay was fluid and rich in detail. I was sold. Did not even bother with the FIFA Demo; they’ve been getting my hard earned cash for far too long it was time for a change. Now that I’ve had the game a good while, I can happily state I’m still very happy with my decision. The game however is not perfect, Goalkeepers are well...terrible, referees are none existent and honestly the game is to easy, I’m already breezing it on Professional level with Inter Milan on Master league...that aside, this is a fine, fine game the goals you can score are just simply awesome...it’s just so much fun!!! Get it if you’re looking for a change from FIFA, you won’t be disappointed. 4 out 5

I don't understand what's going on
I played the demo in the build-up to the game and found myself pretty impressed. As soon as the reviews started trickling out I decided to buy it. Everything seemed fine. The menu systems are clear, concise and easy to navigate and the soundtrack I felt was immense. The editing system, though I only used it to edit my club and a rival team looked really good and I have no issues at all with the graphics. The one thing I was excited to try out was master league and so I jumped into that. I played on regular difficulty just like in the demo and an overal length of 12 or 13 minutes which was a couple of minutes longer overall than the maximum demo length. So first game in I play well and win 4-2. I had about 7 chances and they had 3. I was a little disappointed by that as a big issue I had with FIFA was the shots to goal ratios which always hurt my goalkeeper rating. The next game ended 5-4. Again I had about 9 shots this time and the computer had 5. One was off target. This felt odd to me as in the demo I had never conceded more than 1 goal and the CPU always had a few shots that forced my keeper into good saves. The real kicker was the next game. By HALF TIME it was 4-4 and yet again they had 5 shots. It would have been 4 but by the last few minutes I was so annoyed I deliberately handed them possession to see if they would then go on to score. I quit the game at that point and called it a night, only to try again tomorrow. Sure enough that same game (which I never saved because I rage quit) started off with my conceding 2 goals with 2 shots within the first 13 minutes of the game. It ended 7-6. Total shots = 9 Goalkeeper saves = 0 I've had a few more games since then and tried professional where it is a little better at least but they are still scoring on average 2 out of every 3 shots. What I don't get is how this was never the case for me in the demo. I don't know if this is something that came in with the day 1 patch I downloaded when I got it but the games are just playing like a game of ping pong where they go up the pitch and score and then it's my turn. It's completely broken the immersion for me which is why I'm confused not only cos it feels different to the demo but that any forum I try to find to get some answers some people seems to agree with me and others are saying it's fine for them and keepers are saving shots. The real bummer is that other than that I have just 1 complaint and that's the refereeing which is very liberal in all the games I've played including in the demo too to be fair. Every other detail is fantastic, the graphics are sound and there seems to be a lot to do but I just can't understand why I'm now conceding virtually every time now that i'm playing the actual game. If there is indeed a problem and it gets patched out I will gladly take this review down and give it the 5 it would otherwise deserve but just as it stands for me the games are so frustratingly high scoring for me it takes me out of the experience to the point I feel like I'm watching a cartoon where every shot is a wonder shot that goes in.

Hope This Helps..
Hate the passing on this game. Really annoying when you play online with a mate and the passing doesn't sometimes go to the player that you want to pass too. English teams got their original names (e.g. Chelsea = London Fc) which is annoying coz it takes up time to change the names and the fake kits, meaning the colour of the kits are mixed. No other German teams other than Bayern. The game hasn't got much music on as fifa 15 did and gets boring. The commentary also really sucks, sooner or later it would piss you off. There is pro clubs like fifa & fut teams but a s***ty version. To be honest, I don't feel the thrill i did on this game that i did on fifa 15. Going to buy fifa 16 soon. Its still behind on fifa coz of the licience features. Game play is good but the passing you would only realize until you play it yourself. Other than all that, if you can manage with all that then its okaaay once you get use to it. Would I Ever Buy PES again..? YES, becuase i like to play both and try them out. So its a 3/5 for me.

Undecided which Footy game to go for? Read this
The FIFA Vs. Pro Evol argument is the only thing to talk about here. Having both and playing them side by side, I would make the following observations: - Better graphics on PES - More "controlled' gameplay on PES - More "fun" arcade style gameplay on FIFA - Still not the real team names on PES which is kind of a downer, but doesn't affect the gameplay obviously. Conclusion PES is an awesome game if you are a fan of the franchise or if you want a change from Fifa. PES definitely allows you a higher level of control for the players whereby if you are really skilled you could take on an entire team with one player. In Fifa this is harder to do as they make it quite easy to defend and to lose the ball due to the slower animations. With Fifa, once you commit to move one way you have to wait for the player to complete that animation before you can make the next move. On PES it feels like you have a heightened level of control and can move mid-animation. In an ideal world, I wish PES had the funding and marketing that FIFA has so that this title would shine for all its worth. In the meantime, too many of my friends are just die hard Fifa fans and refuse to even touch the controller if its not Fifa. For this reason alone, I'd say Fifa has the upper hand.

Download the WEPES update and you'll be set to go : ))
Simply the best football game of all time. Ive had every pro evo from the beginning and they've really done it this time. Ive played every FIFA made as well and in my honest opinion, they haven't been close in years. Yes EA has all the money in the world but they don't know how to make a football simulator. They make arcade games.. This game has it all, tactical formation, tactical changes, long ball, quick counter, pressing, parking the blooming bus, its almost flawless. Sure people moan that it doesn't have the rights and the layout is cheap, but Konami can't do anything about that! EA OWN THE RIGHTS. FYI - Konami have made it REALLY easy to download and install all the kits, badges, emblems, even the manages, just google it!! I have the every Premier league team and each team has all three kits. Just look up WEPES - it was made by die hard ProEvo fans

Technically Pro is far superior now in every aspect
This is the first time I have bought Pro Evo since 2009. Fifa this year did not show enough improvement to warrant £40-50. Technically Pro is far superior now in every aspect. My only gripe would be that the camera goal replays do not the best goal angles and you never feel in control of goal celebrations. Also offline mode against AI is too easy even on the most difficult settings, otherwise an outstanding game!
