YAMAHAYAC 1287 Standard Series 5C Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece (YAC1287)

The difference this mouthpiece made to my sound is absolutely astounding. I went from loud and screechy with people cowering away from me in my house and people in the tube station 1 mile away complaining about the worst busker ever, to dark and smooth with an audience in my living room able to stay there and listen with an excellent pretend smile and no watering eyes. All down to one mouth piece. I can even record myself without saturating the microphone's input anymore.Of course, loud and screechy is now out of question, so don't get it if that is what you are after, but if you want a smooth warm dark soft sound, maybe, dare I say it, raspy, then that's the one.

New to the sax and was recommended thismouthpiece by my teacher. Definitely, worth the upgrade! Initially, it took a little time to adjust but worth the perseverance because the tone and the sound is unbelievably better quality in comparison to the standard mouthpiece you receive with your sax. I was really surprised how much a mouthpiece makes a difference.

I read the reviews for this product and I thought some of them maybe somewhat exaggerated. Well I went ahead and bought one anyway, but let me tell you that they're not exaggerated and this mouth piece in my opinion is the best purchase I have ever made and I am now really enjoying learning the alto saxophone. Just three weeks ago I felt disheartened with my progress and nearly gave up, but thanks to this product I am now making steady, enjoyable progress! Perhaps a beginners must buy product?

Noticed a considerable difference compared to the basic mouthpiece i had with my starter alto sax,at this price the AS-5C is worth upgrading to from the outset,i had never played a sax before but on having beginners lessons, my tutor noticed an issue with the starter mouthpiece.AS-5C has a cleaner clearer more pure sound,as i am progressing more with my lessons i am beginning to see that you have to go through an elimination process with certain accessories like this to create a better instrument over all.Currently sticky pads and reeds are my only issue now.Good Luck :)

A more demanding mouthpiece but one that gives a better sound. More for intermediate players than beginners

Bought it to replace my broken 4C. I honestly much prefer this one.

Ho ricevuto da poco un sassofono e devo dire che con questo bocchino il suono è molto meglio rispetto ad uno classico che ti danno al inizio , il suono risulta piu pulito e meno faticoso soprattuto per chi è al inizio .Consiglio !!

This mouthpiece produces a darker tone. The notes come out very clearly. I highly recommend using a leather ligature or a hard rubber ligature with this mouthpiece. I have been playing for around 4 years now with the same mouthpiece and as soon as I tried this mouthpiece I will never go back to my old one. This is very good. It would be very good for someone who has a couple months and maybe a year of practice but brand new players can use it too.
