Oakcastle DAB500 Bluetooth DAB+ Radio & CD Player, 60W HiFi System for Home

Amazing device! So pleased with this. It’s solid ( not cheap plastic, but wood). Small, but the sound quality is exceptional and I particularly like the fact that it has a graphic equaliser so you can tweak your audio to suit your preferences. Bought after my old CD player died suddenly and I’m certainly not disappointed in my purchase. Arrived well packaged in manufacturers box. Easy to set up and navigate your way through the features. Happy customer! An excellent buy.

Love this Oakcastle HiFi system that I ordered for my small office. I needed something with out speakers due to lack of space but still sounded reasonable. This unit looks and sounds better than what I expected for the price, its not gonna match my very expensive system downstairs but is totally suitable for a small space. Its simple to operate, using the remote control and has a LCD display so you can see whats going on. I am going through my vast CD collection whilst working and have used the DAB radio on the odd occasion and again I am amazed regarding the quality of the sound, it has no issues picking up stations. Highly recomended for the price especially if you want an all in one system.

Solid...well made... Great sound. Good value . All parts work well. I love getting my CDs out again!

Easy set up. Connected to my record deck via aux cable. Bluetooth, DAB, USB, CD, FM all work perfectly. Sound is good. Equaliser settings plus you can set your own base and treble. Not as good as the Sony mini hifi it's replacing but not expecting that. Good looking unit. I emailed Oakcastle support with a USB query in the evening and they responded early next day. Overall recommended.

Early days, but nothing really negative. Very, very well double boxed and padded. DAB radio came on by default, I've not checked the stations yet, but it is really clear, with the aerial in a 45° slant. The C.D. player is ok, it's a C.D. player, the USB can take any size stick with up to 5000 tracks on it, the Bluetooth connection is faultless, quick with no dropouts. The sound is great for the size and price of the unit, although, to me, the graphic equalizer is a bit basic. There's Normal, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Speech, Rock and Custom. You can only adjust either Treble or Bass, nothing in-between, it goes from 0-+7, both on +7 sounds, to me, the same as all of the other settings, or very subtle changes. The sound is clear at all volumes, with little to no distortion. All in all I'm favourably impressed, it does everything, including alarm clock and switches to power saving after 15 mins of quiet. The remote has most of the controls on it, if not more, a good range and batteries supplied! I'd recommend

Previously had a bose wave that cost many times the cost of this, it gave up the ghost so was looking for a replacement, not being as rich as I once was! I came across this, WOW, it's 90% if not 100% as good in terms of sound quality, which is high praise indeed, setup is pretty much plug and play and the radio tuner on both DAB & FM is very 'strong' ( I used to be a radio operator) and that's just using the built in telescopic, C.D player works brilliantly, all in all everything You need and nothing You don't, very impressed!

Take no notice of the so called music experts criticizing this product. Value for money wise it's excellent, sound quality is very good, it looks the part and is easy to set up. For under 100 quid you will find it hard to do better than this!

Wanted a nice looking cd and dab system for my gf so that she could enjoy her old cd collection again. This unit fitted the bill and was also from a small UK company which was an added bonus- was a little nervous about an unknown brand compared to Sony etc but took the plunge. All good until 20 months later when the unit just stopped working completely - a light on the display but no text and buttons not functioning. Contacted Oakcastle for support - they were pretty swift and after some troubleshooting admitted that it was a faulty unit BUT refused to replace or repair. We pointed out that there's a "reasonable use" law in the uk and less than 2 years was not reasonable at all but no avail. Luckily Amazon were much more helpful and have issued a refund after return. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews covering this and wonder how many reviewers experienced unit failure later on and didn't amend. Not recommended - you can get better sounding units from more reliable companies.

Great quality for the price but I wouldn’t expect perfection when it comes to the sound output. The CD tray isn’t the strongest build and the Bluetooth isn’t the greatest. I find your device needs to be within 4 foot to connect well. It’s not a bad sound, just not high end but as I say, at this price point you can’t expect that. Ideal for a kitchen or bedroom but not as your main system but then again I am an audio engineer and you may just want a decent cheap all in one system for background sounds. If that’s the case, I would recommend this system.

Bon son, suffisant pour la pièce , Dab+ , trèsvbonne réception et ne prend pas de place sur le meuble..bref super! Je peux réécouter mes vieux cd

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Simple d'utilisation et peu encombrant. Bon produit
