Faultless for beginners
Excellent and extremely clear. This book is particularly good if you are new to photography generally but will perhaps also introduce you to the Nikon interface if this manufacturer is new to you.I have used this book beginning photography for the first time and it couldn't be clearer to understand. It is well laid out broken out into Parts, with each Part having a set of related chapters. As a beginner, the author is great at reminding you quickly about the steps needed to change basic functions on the camera throughout the book even if she has covered the subject in dept in earlier chapters. This saves having to continually flick back to check/remember how to perform or change a particular function. This is extremely handy. The book is packed full of colourful illustrations, diagrams and snapshots of the camera menus so you can quickly follow the instructions. The instructions themselves are laid out clearly in bold, with normal text underneath explaining what each step does. I cannot fault this and highly recommend this book to beginners who are starting out on this entry level DSLR camera.

Excellent supplement to the meagre Nikon N3300 manual
This is an guide for someone who want to get the best out of their Nikon D3300. I had a working knowledge of photography but the changes since cameras went digital had left me behind. This guide will make you feel confident with all aspects of the D3300, going into sufficient depth to satisfy more proficient users. It's suitable for beginners too, but beware the order in which some topics are dealt could lead to confusion (for example, Chapter 2 goes into great depth about flash uses, and a discussion of exposure basics, the relationship between shutter speed and aperture etc does not take place until Chapter 4) - also, since this Dummy manual is so comprehensive, the learning curve for a beginner will be steep.

Practially essential for D3300 Owners
Very useful. Fab to have the kindle edition as I can take it with me. The camera is basically a computer, and although the onboard help is good, I frequently find myself referring to this manual. It shows far more than the supplied manual. (Also, buy the remote control for the camera!!!)

Ideal for someone who knows little or nothing about dSLRs
Having purchased a D3300 and a second lens equivalent to the things I was using 40 years ago I realised I had no hope of even starting to get to grips with this camera without a lot of help. Written in the style of all the For Dummies books I already own, this text leads you through the intricacies of set up and leads on to actually unleashing the power of it.It'll take me a while to get into the nitty gritty but also shows how to get the most of the presets. Haven't finished reading it yet and guess I never will but it seems like a great reference book to me.

great book for new users
only had the book less than a hour and know how to do half a dozen things on my Nikon d3300 i didn't before, being new to digital SLRs, opened the box saw more buttons and dials than a 1980 Jagaur, so just started taking pics and worry about them later, now is worry time and this book helps old guys like me sort it out, well laid out, i found how to use the camera menu in minutes, can't say better than that, if your new to your Nikon this is the book for you

A must have for beginners
I was a total novice to DSLR and digital photography, this superb book and camera make me look like a pro within days, I am a complete technophobe, usesless, this book is designed for people like me, the language is easy to follow, as is every instruction, I bought the Amazon basics DSLR and laptop backpack too and the book fits in nicely so goes everywhere with me and the camera.Remember your favourite teacher from school? Thats how I think about this book now.

You won't regret buying it but you might regret not buying it.
I bought this on the commendations on Amazon and I am glad I did. Digital photography at this level is a big step up from using a point and press or even the advanced bridge cameras I have used for the last ten years. This book starts from the principle that you will know nothing and be baffled by technical terms before clearly explaining what, why and how to use the various features. I have learnt something every time I have picked this up (and even remembered some of It!) and it is simply invaluable. In fact it should be included with every camera. You won't regret buying it but you might regret not buying it.
