The kids were really looking forward to making scented soaps. But:- the scent bottle was open so all the liquid was inside the bag it was in and couldn't be used for the soap making- the measurements were not enough for filling the moulds and melting some more soap to fill the moulds did not prevent the soap from splitting into layers- the soap hardens as your mixing it (8 seconds tops) so it needs to be re-heated- the box is way too big for the contents, it could all fill in a small bag also.

Wow, this is actually really good for a kids kit.My 9 year old loves it and we made a pillar candle and 2 stacking candles in multicolours. They look so good.The kit comes with enough to make probably 20 candles. it also comes with 4 colours to you melt into the candle to make them the different colours. These just looked like crayons so the girls got their crayons out and we used them so we could make them in pinks and turquoise to match their rooms. (they arent allowed to light them in their room, just for decoration). The instructions were really clear and very easy for my 9 year old to follow. Adult help is needed as you need to heat up wax but i had fun too.Just heat up wax in a saucepan, thats placed inside another saucepan fill of water (same as if you were heating chocolate), add some colour and pour into the moulds. Wait for it to set and ta-dah a lovely diy candle and 2 very proud little girls!

Used this kit for the first time today with my 11yr old daughter. As an ex art teacher I thought it would be fairly straight forward, however there was no item list in the kit, and I just couldn't work out what a couple of the items were for (small pink block shaped like an eraser? Cardboard cut-out shapes?). The instructions mentioned "dye sticks", this seemed to refer to the wax crayons, which you can cut up and use to add colour.The instructions directed you to carefully weigh out the required amount of wax granules, but you were only told the amount required for the stacking candles, so if you want to make the large candle you'll have to rely on guesswork.To make the stacking candles shown on the box, you would need either 6 star moulds or 6 heart moulds, however there are only 3 of each mould included, so they have to be made in 2 batches, which means waiting 1 hour for the first batch to set before you can make the next batch, and then waiting another hour before the second batch is ready.As for the actual wax melting process, we used the 2 pan method described in the instructions, but you really need to supervise children very closely if they are supposed to stand over a cooker stirring & adding ingredients to a pot of hot wax. Personally I wouldn't fancy doing it with any group larger than 3 children.

Bought these for my granddaughter who loves craft stuff like this. However, there were only 3 dolls in the box although the box said there were 5. She had got stuck into painting them before I found out that there were 2 missing so couldn't return them. Very disappointing so that's why I knocked a star off the review

Kept my niece amused when we were on a staycation (isn’t that just a rubbish made up tossy word apologies for being suckered in 😡)End result was good though

The dye Comes Out On Your Hands And Not easily Washed Out.Good quick and easy kit for kids, makes lots of little soaps, which I used as gifts for my friends.Good for quick soap making for kids or adults if your a beginner soap maker like me?I enjoyed making my first soap, but now would buy ingredients separately not as a kit, now I know what I'm doing and need to make my own soap.Good ingredients and good instructions easy to follow, recommend for parents to do with kids on a rainy day or during the holidays?
