I use my Sony A5000 connected via HDMI to the PC when recording for Youtube. This lightweight cable takes all the strain off the micro HDMI port, which means I can adjust the camera without fear of it disconnecting or damaging the port.

To minimise strain (almost zero) at camera HDMI output, this kind of cable appears to be the best available at the time of writing. Quality can't be faulted but I can't vouch for its physical strength or tolerance to twisting. I play it safe and treat it with care. The terminals at each end are not insulated but this doesn't seem to present a problem and can be handled without consequence. The package comes with a shrink-wrap sleeve which is intended as a DIY solution for the end-user who's brave enough to play a hot-air gun round those bare terminals. I decided against it!

This item is advertised as being compatible with the Sony A7s.It is not compatible with the Sony A7s. Due to the design of the cable, with the 90 degree curve on the Micro HDMI end, it will not even fit into the camera body. The description is wrong, I bought the item on the basis of being able to use it with my A7s and cannot.

When carrying camera equipment and cables there is nothing worse than cables getting twisted and damaged and just plain in the way let alone the weight. This product solved all my cable problems. Will be getting more. It's a must for all photographers and videographers. A Must!!!
