Great for beginner's
I purchased this book because my new home has many different species of plants growing for herbal remedies. This book is very informational. Not only does it cover many different species, it has recipes and so much more! My only complaint is I wish the pictures were in color.

No color images
Just getting the book today. It seems to have a lot of information on plenty of herbs and plants. The only thing I don't like about the book is that the images are in black and white. There are no color pages within the book.

I feel overwhelmed lol
Firstly, the book does seem accurate although study from online sources seem to give many more uses for the herbs, oils listed in this book. The book is okay but I already feel very overwhelmed. There's encouragement it seems to me to grow these yourself vs relying on store bought herbal capsules...Now that does make perfect sense as you're avoiding the whole preservative, processed store bought issues. Also of great importance is the fact that the herbs you grow will be much stronger and have way more potent medicinal qualities! And those of us used to taking man-made medications are going to need a stronger more pure herb to probably do much compared to what we're currently used to. As an example I was on Ativan for anxiety for years it's very powerful to the point it's addictive...So herbs like passion flower and valarien would've great for someone not used to modern psychiatric drugs but will no where near effect me at this point. It would take a long time of being off man-made medication to adjust or get benefit from many herbs.I am a stay at home currently, so I do have the benefit of time on my side as to planting and cultivating but I still felt very overwhelmed by the idea of finding, picking, boiling tree bark to make a salve or a tea lol. The book does suggest to start off slow.. pick just a few herbs that you would need for your specific ailments and start by growing those... But still it felt daunting just reading about it let alone doing it..I am 100% for changing, and to stop relying on all man made medicine andI have actually researched different herbs for years so this wasn't my first introduction to herbal remedies, but again, the way this is written just feels very daunting and impossible lol.If you're already an avid Gardner, or already growing a few herbs and are already invested in this idea you may get a lot out of this book! But if you're just starting out you may want to research online or look into a book that starts you out by buying the herbs from an herbal store to start out your experimentations! That was just my view after reading about a third of this book. I wish you luck in your journey too, I think many of us are waking up to searching for a better, safer way to heal!!
