We had temps below freezing and it held up fine. There was no water in it. It is possible it would not hold up if there was water.

Q: Could this survive a hurricane?

IT could if bracket is attached properly to at least a 4" Post or Board that has been properly secured to withstand winds in excess of the hurricane speed
