Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin DIY Clay Mask
This is a clay powder with tomato extract, that comes in a little round tub, with a lift top lid inside and a domed top screw cap lid. It does not appear as a sachet as the stock image displays. The powder is inside a resealable bag inside the tub. The screw top domed lid, is meant to be used as a mini mixing bowl and has guide measurements on it for powder and water. You add the required measurement of powder to the mini dome bowl and add water, then use the small spatula provided to mix the mask. When I first tried this, the powder just seemed to clump onto the spatula and I had trouble trying to scrape it off and trying to mix it properly, although I added the recommended amount of water to the level shown. Anyway, I persevered and eventually ended up with a semi smooth but thick mix, which I then spread over my face using the spatula. It wasn't very easy to get an even finish and it was much thicker in some places than in others and I sat back waiting for it to dry.It recommends 10 minutes or 20 minutes for a deeper treatment. After 10 minutes the mask had barely dried at all so I used a hair dryer for another five minutes, which dried it in patches. It started to feel a bit irritating after this and I decided to cleanse it off.It recommends to use a damp face cloth to remove, so I thought wet wipes would be okay to use to and they were. The mask came of quite easily, with minimal scrubbing at my face. After the mask was completely removed from my skin, my face was mildly pink and rosy, but felt really clean and very soft indeed, but it did not cleanse deep into my pores or remove blackheads at all, so you would probably need to use a peel mask for that. There is plenty of powder to make several mask treatments and if anything, the treatments are overly generous as measured in the mini bowl, as I had some left over, so you could probably share it with a friend and do two faces at once if you have another little applicator available.Overall, it is okay and does leave skin nice and soft, but it is a bit of a hassle trying to get it to mix correctly and takes far to long to dry.

DIY Face Mask
After reading some of the negative reviews of this product, I didn’t have very high expectations but was pleasantly surprised by it. Inside the sachet is a fold out cardboard bowl and a small plastic spatula in order to mix the powder with one of your own natural ingredients (yoghurt, honey, banana, aloe vera, avocado or green tea. I mixed the clay with two teaspoons of natural yoghurt which made it into a good consistency to apply. However, I did use my own spoon to make it less messy and quicker and used my fingers to apply the mask. The mask felt calming and relaxing when on with the subtle scent of cucumbers and even though I left the mask on for 15 minutes it didn’t tighten, itch or feel uncomfortable. I usually have to clean clay masks off in the shower but this mask came away quite easily. Overall, if you don’t mind mixing up the mask yourself and are willing to use an added ingredient from your kitchen then it is worth a try.

Faffy
First of all it should be noted that the product I was delivered is considerably different in packaging - what I got is a plastic tub with a zip lock bag containing powder, a mixing/applicator spoon and a domed lid which is used as the mixing bowl. The product picture & description here looks like a sachet and the description talks of a paper mixing bowl. Perhaps the product has been repackaged and I have an older incarnation. But this makes it difficult to be accurate in this review concerning the product in a number of ways, for example the number of applications contained as that might well have changed with the repackaging. So pretty much anything said below could be not valid.(EDIT: After seeing some of the other reviews here it looks like there are in fact two variants - that on this page is a single use in a sachet, but there is a separate multi-use in a jar version which I was sent presumably by mistake: Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal DIY Powder To Paste Mask )The instructions on the side of the jar are minute and I really struggled to read them. You put powder in the lid up to the first marker, add water to the second marker and mix with the spoon. It is a faff to get rid of all the lumps. I started applying to the face with the spoon, but that too is faffy and I gave up and used Mk. 1 Fingers to apply instead. There was significantly more stuff in the bowl, probably 50% more, than was really needed to cover my face fully but I applied the whole lot anyway. Because of the excess perhaps it still hadn't all dried after the 20 minutes was up (instructions say 10 mins or 20 mins for a 'deeper treatment'), about a third was still wet.As for the effects, well I felt it wasn't quite as good as most other similar masks I have used in the past, but it was OK. I would guess that there may be 3-4 or possibly even 5 treatments in the bag I got, maybe 3 if you fill to the line which as I said I think is too much, or 4-5 if you are more sparing. If as suggested you add other ingredients such as yoghurt or green tea you may be able to make it last even longer.I just think this is a faffy product compared to ready-made in a jar, having to measure out, mix and remove lumps, and clean bowl and spoon afterwards. I think the only justification is if you are going to roll your own, and mix it with some other products as previously mentioned, but then you can probably do that with ready-mixed products anyway.
