Not the highest quality but adequate for a spare room door

These are excellent and I shall not worry about being locking my bathroom again! They were easy to fit, seem sturdy but couldn't figure out how to adjust them, luckily i didn't need to.

Bought this for my mom who had one on her cupboard door and it kept sticking as very old. This was identical to one taken off and very simple to replace old one with and works do much better

Low quality but still does the job. Noisy because being low quality, the finish isn't top and the bolt moves back and forth ever so slightly but enough to make this horrible loud ("clack" ) noise every time you close the door. Not when you open it (it makes a "cling* when you do). Tried to muffle the noise (which I manged to a certain extent) but the only way to stop that" clack"noise is to prevent the low quality bolt from moving back and forth by introducing a small piece of whatever you can find/use (in my case a bit of wood), but because in comes in and out, it pushes the bit out and by doing so the bolt becomes loose again and able to go back and forth and the noise is coming back then. The best would be to be able to fix the little bit you add into the bolt so it doesn't come out (bolt goes in and out as open/close the door, thus pushing the bit out eventually). I guess you get what you pay for. Appart for that, it does what it's supposed to do.

Never fitted a ball catch before however it wasn't that much different from fitting a normal latch. Needs a 21mm or 22mm auger or flat bit to sink in barrel. Needed adjustment, roller has a slot in it to insert a flat screwdriver, push roller right into barrel and rotate one way or other depending on adjustment required. Comes with screws and catch plate to flush into door frame. Decent quality catch.

This little roller ball door catch is not in fact a catch. It is a metal encased disaster which will reduce even the best DIYer to tears of frustration. This is not my first rodeo changing door handles or latches. Just the week before installing this monster, I switched over every single door handle in the house using various different drill bits, templates and spirit levels with not a swear word uttered. Now do don’t get me wrong, installing this is also a piece of cake, it’s what comes after. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT forget to change the strike before installing the ball latch. Do NOT be fooled by the other roller ball latches on other doors working perfectly with the existing tube latch strike. Because this b*sta*d will over extend into the strike hole and turn your door into a wall which will cause you great frustration, maybe shed some tears and definitely mess your wood work and paint job up trying to get the door open again. Yes I checked the roller ball wasn’t over extended before I fit it. Yes, I have other roller latches (purchased else where) that work with the tube latch style of strike. It does have the option to change the length of extension; it changes from a 2cm to 2mm, which if you recess the tube, means it’s useless. Honestly, learn from my mistake, pop to your local DIY store and buy one from there. Your sanity, woodwork, paint work and household members will thank you for it.
