I found that longer knives are better to do in two parts
These have given some really ordinary knives a bit of an extraordinary keenness. However, I found that longer knives are better to do in two parts. The angles get smaller the further the hones are away from the jig that holds the knife. It is better to keep the angle similar throughout the process. Hence, better to break the job into parts. There are enough rods to set all the required hones up first, then get into the task of sharpening. A good product.

Well worth the money
It goes without saying I already had the basic Lansky set of diamond hones so this is used in conjunction with them. I want to get beyond the 'normal' edge that you get when sharpening a knife or buying one new. To me, a knife - almost every knife - must be as sharp as possible, especially my penknife and my kitchen knives. You definitely don't want a cut from a blunt edge. The Ultra Fine hone gives the blade a really sharp edge. I then go on to a final edge using the Super Sapphire Hone which takes the edge into wickedly sharp territory and that's what I want (High carbon steels give the best edge but you can get a really good edge on most stainless steels). Cutting meat and vegetables is so easy now. The only way to get an even better edge is to buy a Lansky Leather Stropping hone and I'm thinking of doing exactly that ........

Arrived broken but easy to fix.
Arrived broken but lansky hones are a bit notorious for being fragile as the factory glue that holds the stone in the frame is weak. Nothing Bostick all purpose clear adhesive can’t fix. Perhaps Lansky ought to use Bostick when they make them. Once repaired worked perfectly and puts a very fine edge on a blade. 5 star if I hadn’t had to fix it.

Good Quality No bar Expensive
The quality seems the same as the hones I got from Ginorgee on here (set of 5 with bars and blade holder for £20.02) This is the Hone ONLY no guide bar!

Provides a glassy finish to the blade
Provides a glassy finish to the blade. It's like a tiny mirror along the edge of the knife. Not cheap, but if you want to squeeze that last drop of perfection out of your sharpening there's no substitute for a quick finish on this.

Great for helping get a more polished edge with my Lansky shaprning system.
I have used my Lansky sharpening system for decades. By adding this stone and the strop, anyone can put a scary sharp, hair-popping edge on a knife because it helps them maintain the correct angle. No "one dime, two dime" guesswork here! There is something very satisfying about putting a truly sharp edge on a knife. I love my Lansky system. My stone had a little crystallization on a segment of the sharpening surface, but it doesn't seem to affect the performance. Great product!

Awesome at finishing off an already good job
Awesome quality and really puts that razor edge on knives that have been sharpened up to 1000 grit. Highly recommended
