--- Story Time --- Never shaved till I was 24. I have always been a beard guy. But for beard related personal research, i had to shaved it all, last year. Had been shaving for continuous 15 days every 3 months for an year. [Research Result] Shaving (not trimming) helps with thicker beard growth. Not thicker hair, but increased hair density. Because when you shave you cut the baby hairs - that are not easy to cut with trimmer - they regrow as full hair. I own a cheap Straight Razor (Ustra), which i bought years ago to keep my beard lines in shape. Been using the same for complete shave, for an year. Though, i have learnt to handle it, it's still not easy. Almost everything i end up with atleast one cut. Other times, with many cuts. I'm done with my beard-research, but want to keep my face clean shaved for a few months. I can still use Ustra, but it needs patience, precision and time. I have Patience and Precision, but I'm running little low on time. So i bought a Gillette Vector Plus Cartridge razor. The cheapest in market, with one Cartridge selling for ₹30. Compared to ₹3 for a standard double-edge blade. I used Vector Plus for 10 days. It was easy, safe and very fast to shave with. Love it. But i wanted to shave the traditional way. So i googled about Double Edge Safety Razor. Online experts said that Double Edge is the best razor you could own. So searched on Amazon for these Razors. Pearl Razors were among the cheapest one with better reviews. Did my further research on the brand. Found out that they are selling the same razors outside of India. I bought Closed Comb for ₹289. But outside India, same product is selling for $23 (₹1700+). And the people who used it, actually praised it. So without any further thought, i placed my order. -- Review -- It looks better than in photos. Not a fan of chrome but i couldn't find Matté Black color by Pearl on Amazon so had to settle. It is complete metal build (Brass and Zinc). Feels heavy in hand, which is good. Easy to open and close. Textured and fairly long handle (but not too long) for better grip. Top is chrome with Pearl branding (probably sandblasted). When blade is put inside the razor, the top-plate bends the blade perfectly. (I have installed the blade in photos. Can you see?) Since no one taught me shaving, i learnt it from internet. But this razor came with a shaving guide which can help anyone in detail who didn't googled "how to shave". I personally love that little booklet. It was helpful. And then we come to the shaving part. I was expecting some cuts and burns. To my disappointed, didn't get any. Yes, a couple pimples burst-ed. But pimples always bleed, even if you use the safest razor in the world. This is undoubtedly the "Safety" Razor. I ran this Razor with and against the grain. I have never received this close shave. They say, you get closer shave with an Open Comb design. But what's more close than this? De-rooting the hair? With Ustra (and even with Cartridge Razor), i could never shave my chin perfectly. A dimple chin is the most complex part to shave. But with this Double Edge Razor, i could finally shave it to smooth. Yes, you get this kind of perfect shave with any Double Edge Razor. So you don't have to stick with Pearl. But in my experience, Pearl is selling an amazing razor at ₹300. Other Double Edge razor selling at this price or lower feels hollow and light. -- Conclusion & FAQs-- Apart from logo, everything about this razor is perfect. I love it. It will last me years to come. Maybe generations, since I'll grow my beard back and hardly will shave. If you are reading this because you have never tried Wet Shaving, but want to: Brother, please give it a try. With this safety razor, it will be safe, quick and easy to shave. End result will be a smooth skin, which you would love. I have always been a beard guy. But i am loving the shaving experience so much, that i want to stay clean shaved for some time. I absolutely do suggest buying a Double Edge Razor over any other type of razor. If you don't want to research before buying, just buy the Pearl Safety Razor. You will not be disappointed. If you are confused between closed comb and open comb, go with the close comb. Open comb is said to provide a super close shave but it is for experts. And honestly, Pearl Closed Comb already gave me a very close - smooth - shave. (Because i ran it twice. This product is really amazing. Recently I purchased a similar item from the nearby local shop and the item was disgusting. Then I started looking for another one on Amazon and I am really amazed to see the quality of the this item. The built quality is really good , heavy , strong and the usage is very nice, the reason why I said the usage is nice is because of the weight of the product, while using this item you don't have to put any pressure and its slips very effectively and glides easily due to the weight . A must but product if you are looking for one.

Returned, after I held it for a few seconds. Item arrived new & sealed. Fully metal with nice weight and glossy chrome head. Reason for return - the knurling on the handle is designed / finished poorly. The gap between each line is about 1-1.5mm apart and acted like very fine metal file. I could feel it catching on my skin with dry hands. Will be much worse with wet hands. I'm trying to shave my face, not remove a layer of skin from hands everytime I use the handle... Feels like this was designed by someone who has not used the finished product. Major design flaw.

I think I bought the last one on Amazon. I am glad I got it. This 3 piece razor, is for the money, the best value and the craftsmanship and performance outshine the Parker which is also made in India. Indian razors are my favorite anyway. I shaved with this razor with a fresh Indian made Willys blade, and in two passes, I had a clean shave. The weight is just right. The handle length is perfect. The blade tabs on the ends are not exposed. Its open comb which I love. This will be my daily razor. Its 3 piece, so what's not to love. My only regret is tariffs may have closed the USA to this amazing razorvand company.
