Jason Bourne [DVD] [2016]

Still hints at more.
More of the Bourne formula and that is no bad thing. The "non-Matt Damon" film lacked it. The fight scenes were brutal and realistic. The pace was unrelenting with the music adding to the speed and frenzy. The ease of movement over borders and the surveilance technology was a stretch but all good films push the boundaries. Damon is brilliant and there are great performances all round. My personal opinion is that he out-Bonds Bond. I imagine that it is a faint hope after this amount of time that there will be another, but if it happens, we will be in the queue at the cinema. We will also buy or rent it in 4K, if you can, this is the optimum format; the fast action and outside scenes really benefit from the superior motion tracking and sharp details.

I loved this film..
This series is, lets face it, a tad predictable. But that doesnt matter. You get what you want, an all action film, a silly plot, great acting by Damon (how does he keep that fit) and an ending which allows for further films although I doubt the star has an appetite for this any more. The Bourne series is great and this film is my fav...

Bourne is back - yes!
I was concerned at some of the reviews of this film, but, having really enjoyed all the films of the series so far, I decided to give it a go.First thing to say about any action film these days is that it is not intended to reflect real life. They are all, in that respect, tosh. However, if one approaches them as a piece of simple enjoyment, then the Bourne films rank very highly indeed. This one only caused a few moments of concern for me in the chases in Las Vegas. The ramp at the front of the SWAT vehicle just taken a few steps too far there, and the crashes were unconvincing though spectacular.Otherwise, I was riveted to the film for the entire length and my heart has only just stopped thumping, 30 minutes after it finished.Recommended. By the way, the bonus material is excellent.

Slightly Disappointing
Okay I will admit it, I'm such a fan of all the Bourne films so I am easily pleased and yes the story-line is not as tight as the first three films but there have been worse sequels. But there are some huge whoppers that can't be ignored in the fact these films are always embracing the modern technology and in the Bonus features of this film that is what the director felt needed to be updated 10 years on, considering the files on Jason Bourne have been dissected and investigated the new information that kick starts the film is not as credible really. (Don't want to cause spoilers for people) I did fully enjoy the fight sequences and the car chases once again which is such a huge part of the Bourne Franchise. So like other reviews have mentioned the film has not fulfilled the normal excellent standard Bourne fans come to expect but it still is enjoyable to watch.

A GOOD WATCHABLE YARN
Just when you thought this franchise had run out of steam here comes Matt Damon again (also as a producer by the way) to kick start it again. There is brand placing (Dell computers an obvious case) and lots of stunts and vehicle chases. Filming on locations is fabulous, and as it is an American film they tell you where in the world it is, unless the location is in America when they only mention the state. The initial mayhem in Athens (Greece) is superb and then we move on to London (United Kingdom) passing through Reykavik (Iceland), Rome (Italy) and Germany to end up in Las Vegas (Nevada) with what appears to be an indestructible car driven by Jason along accross wrong way etc along the Strip.Lots of shooting, knuckle fights and Mr. Damon aging gracefully. Lots of characters die so is there another film coming?Rumour has it that the next one will be called JB...
