According to the packaging/instructions 1. is this hazardous to cats? 2. how long does it last?

Cats - I don't know, but I can't see how even the most determined cat could get into it. The ants go in (ant sized openings) and carry the stuff back to their nests. It certainly lasts long enough to kill the ants - I just removed it when no more ants - works well and quickly.

Do the traps already come filled with poison so you only just have to place it on the floor and your done? Also are they refillable or disposable? Thx

The traps are already loaded. Break off the toggles and place near to the trail. The little buggers can't resist 'em indoors ore outside. They really work.

I have ants downstairs in my house. I'm not sure where they are coming In. How's best to treat them?

Place a few ANT STOP bait stations along the skirting boards and where you see them congregate. They take the bait back to their nests and it will kill off the ants in their nest after a few days.

Is this dog friendly?

Yes, very much so. I have 2 dogs who thought it looked interesting but actually can not get to the chemicals inside as the holes are too small
