The Deer Stalker: A Western Story

Shallow
Unusual for Zane Gray the plot was fairly thin. Details regarding the Grand Canyon area were interesting and he paints a beautiful picture of it. Fairly good read but not up to par with some of his other books of that type.

Beautiful descriptions of the North Rim area!
I enjoyed the story and remember being on the North Rim when I was a teenager (long time ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday).

Despite the cover photo there's no real shooting in this book
Historical fiction of the deer drive on the north rim of the Grand Canyon with a couple of romances thrown in.

The Ranger, Saving Deer and Love
This is a story of the beautiful Grand Canyon, and saving the deer from starvation and death. A combination of factors merge together to create an humane way to save the deer. It shows the politics behind the cattlemen, investors, forest service and the community. Throughout the story are a series of events that lead to the development of relationships between the men and women.

5 Stars from a fan of Zane Grey
I have read all but one or two of Zane Grey's books that have been published in Kindle format. I can't wait for more. This is not my favorite but is up there among the top runners. If you like westerns, well written and stories that hold your attention. I would recommend this book to you.

Great Read
I couldn't put this book down once I got into it. I stayed up until two o'clock most nights. It was an exciting and action packed book. I think you will thoroughly enjoy it if you give it a try.
