Could this pond take a small largemouth bass

Absolutely not, you would genuinely need a pond 100x bigger (no kidding) for fish like that. This pond is too small for anything except a few frogs and newts. Even goldfish who are quiet hardy will die young in this pond size, although a well cared for goldfish will actually grow to 12” and easily 10 years plus.

Question 2

When backfilling around the sides, I keep hitting the problem of the sides being pushed inward at the narrow middle section; I'm using soft sand as guidance suggests, and part-filling the pond with water to help it retain position and shape, but those sides end up caving in and I'm left with... a coffin shape. Any tips…

I have installed this pond, and as suggested I back filled with course sand matching level backfill with water stage by stage do not compact the sand as this will mis-shape the pond let it settle naturally

Question 3

This is my first pond, it’s in full sun so gone green. Was going to get a uv pump filter but unsure what l/h I need for this size please?

Afraid we haven’t used a filter but ours is in full sun. We Use oxygenating plants and a small mesh bag full of straw - seems to work to keep it clear.

What I have done with my pond liner which I have already put in my garden after digging out the place I wanted it in a sunny position,and adding all kinds of garden ornaments  and pebbles and pond plants etc., to look nice...I have also added an inexpensive solar fountain which only works with direct sunshine, unfortunately...and with this current nice weather is merrily cascading and gurgling away in the middle of my wee pond...it is great for agitating the pond water and keeping it clear to prevent the dreaded algae build up...and it also tells me via the fountain funnel if any more water should be added to the pond,or not...so to me,a pump for this wee pond is uneccessary...a  solar fountain is much more pleasing to the eye and ear and does the same job...as long as it stays sunny tho'...!
