FATMAX Straight Cut Compound Action Aviation Snips, 2-14-563

I picked up these Stanley FatMax straight cut aviation snips for £11.95, which is exceptional value for a tool of this quality. I bought them for general shed and DIY work where I needed something more capable than basic tin snips.Ease of cutting is a big strength. The compound action works exactly as intended, making it easy to cut through tougher materials without excessive hand force. They don’t feel like you’re fighting the tool, even when cutting thicker sheet or wire mesh.Cut quality is very good. The blades are sharp and stay on line, producing clean, controlled cuts rather than tearing or deforming the material. This makes a noticeable difference when accuracy matters, especially on straight cuts.Sturdiness is exactly what you’d expect from the FatMax range. They feel solid and confidence-inspiring, with no flex in the handles or blades. Everything about them suggests they’re built for regular use rather than occasional light duty.Comfort is also good. Used for cutting galvanised steel fixing strap and these snips cut it very well.They are slightly cumbersome to use but they do a good job and that's what matters. I wouldn't want to use them all day but they do feel like they should last and seem to keep their edge well enough. I wouldn't recomend this product.

Needed a set of snips to cut mesh to protect a broody hen with her babies while in a pet travel crate and the babies could get out through the larger holes.Nicely weighted tool in the hand, sharp and strong action cutting mesh. Safety storage clip is effective.Bright colour so not easy to lose- a hazard on a smallholding!Good value and I'm hoping they will last well too.

Highly recommended for cutting tin plate. I spent a lot of time researching a decent set of snips and despite manufacturers claims I found disagreeing reviews. However, the name 'Stanley' has really lived upto my expectations for quality and I have found these snips to be excellent for cutting tin plate such as re utilizing empty (baked beans) tin cans. The fine serations on the blades give both a satisfying feel and sound while finely cutting.

Low cost but highly effective for cutting Stainless Steel Braiding for Electrical work.
