Cheap Hard Drive With Good Performance - Exactly What My Dying Computer Needed
I purchased this hard drive many years ago as the hard drive in my computer became corrupt and it slowed down my whole darn computer! After a week or so of trial and error I decided that a new hard drive was my solution, and as much as I would have loved to, an SSD was out of my price range so a Hybrid drive was the solution I settled on.I highly recommend! The HDD was securely packaged with plently of bubblewrap the protect it from Delivery Drivers having a bad day, and it was in perfect condition and of good material quality. I installed in and of course used some software to test the HDD to ensure performance met the standard advertised here and it met all expectations.

High quality drive that does speed up your PC after time.
I wanted to give my 6 year old PC a bit of a speed boost and after reading several reviews decided on this Seagate over a full solid state drive ( I will wait till they come down in price a bit more ).Good job I did as old hard drive 'died' on me. Replaced original drive on newer PC with this one .... and yes it does speed up your boot up times and other frequently used software ... but it takes a few days of use to come into full effect. No problems with Windows 8.1 installation.Very well packed & protected by seller. As usual with Seagate drive build quality and downloadable software very good. May get larger 2 or 4gb when money allows.Rare, for me, 5 star review given.

Older drive but fits my older MAC without the need for additional thermostat.
This is an older 3.5 " SSHD drive (originally manufactured in 2013) but new to me, fits my older MAC. There is no need for additional thermostat to monitor the drive temperature as the Apple sensor connects directly. The optional which would cost money (about £40.00) is required for some fo the later faster SSHD. This drive is a cost effective replacement for the original Apple Mac SATA II drive.I used Apple's time machine back up recovery process to restore all my data ad OS, so make sure you have a backup of your machine if you intend to do the same.Due to the age of my Apple Mac (2010) - the online recovery of Mountain Lion, although an option failed, as the OS online is not compatible with my MAC. The use of a time machine backup from external USB drive which I had kept current proved invaluable. The SSHD Is a good compromise between SSD and HD and much lower cost than SSD and much faster than a conventional HD.Note: Since I bought this drive last week, the price had gone up approximately 30%., so this drive not quite as cost effective as it was.

I bought this hybrid drive from Seagate and installed following the brilliant guide from iFixit
My 24" iMac (model EMC2134) has been booted from an external drive since the internal HD failed two years back.I bought this hybrid drive from Seagate and installed following the brilliant guide from iFixit :-(online: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iMac+Intel+24-Inch+EMC+2134+and+2211+Hard+Drive+Replacement/8968).Formatting using the Mac's 'Disk Utility' app was easy, then I used a 'Time Machine' back-up to copy the previous external disk's stuff onto this new internal disk which took a few hours but all works just as before.NOTE: Before installing the new HD, I upgraded my Mac's OS to Yosemite and made a Time Machine back-up of everything which the Time Machine app later allows the new disk to 'inherit', so I recommend you do this first! The iMac's performance is now very much better and very quiet.A very worth while investment to upgrade performance and great value for money.

Good value for money for what you get
I bought this hybrid drive to replace a failed Seagate Barracuda hard drive. My options were to buy a standard 1tb hard drive for about £40, buy this 1tb hybrid drive for about £60 or go for a 1tb solid state drive for about £240 taking in to account that the SSD would need an extra mounting bracket as part of this price. This makes the SSD 6 times more expensive than a HDD and 4 times more expensive than a hybrid drive and even though the SSD is the fastest, I felt that the hybrid drive was for me the best value for money considering that my computer is coming up to being 8 years old this year and I would not see the full benefit of an SSD (by the time that I will be able to upgrade the rest of my computer at a later date the prices of SSDs should have come down). This hybrid drive is definitely faster than my previous hard drive though I would not say that it is mind blowingly fast in my current computer.I would hope that it would be even faster if ever get around to upgrading my computer providing that I don't replace this drive with a SSD when the time comes.

Faster start up and reliable.
I was a bit sceptical at first about buying Hybrid SSD for my PC build. However, after a year+ of use I am glad I made this decision. I have a heavy start-up with many applications, but this handles it very well. Within 20-30 seconds of pushing the power button and I'm ready to go and start gaming.would recommend to those who don't want to splash out £200+ on a pure SSD but want something faster than a HDD.

Recommended as an alternative for SSDs
This awesome for anyone that can't afford an SSD but still wants a faster computer. My dad's hard drive broke, so his computer got super slow, instead of buying another regular HDD that would be as slow as the previous one, I bought this. Before buying this, I was not entirely sure that this would work, but it does! The computer it is in has a fresh install of Windows 7, with some basic programs like Chrome and Word.

Easy to fit, quiet, fast once bedded in for a while.
Installs easily, same as a conventional disk drive. Very quiet though for ultra low noise I recommend rubber mountings. It takes a few days for it to learn which parts of the disk are getting accessed most (directories, system files, browser files etc) so don't expect it to be much faster than a conventional disk until it has had time to settle in.
