Bargain bit of boomage!
I was pleasently surprised by this. I bought with the intetion of old attaching a considerably hefty LED light to it. Needless to say it worked perfectly despite the 4kg+ load. The legs are sturdy, the main shaft surprisingly strong and rigid (although when legs are splayed out it does take up a considerable amount of room!). If I was to nit pick it would be the caribina for the counterweight bag is too small, but once attached it still works fine. For the price, I dont think you can beat this as initially thought it would turn out to be mediocre, but its anything but. Very tempted to get another one!

Awesome value for money
Awesome value for money, totally awesome. Super impressed with this item. Was expecting some cheap and nasty flimsy stand, but wow, it is good and sturdy and love the adjustability and added sandbag for heavier items. I bought it as a boom mic stand and it works very well. Not sure if it would carry heavier items such as heavy lights at full reach (even with the sandbag) but for what it is intended as, a boom Mic, very very impressed.Arrived perfectly next Prime day and packaged well. Does not come with a carry case though.

Krypton Factor in a box
I was expecting to find a separate boom arm in the box; alas no. Just what looked like a single light stand with the angle adjustment gubbins on the side but no apparently obvious way to make it a tripod with a boom arm. Also absent; any instructions. I guess they forgot to put them in. After returning to my computer to have a look at the images on the Amazon listing I figured out that what I needed to do was loosen an Allen screw with the Allen key not provided, then I'd be able to slide the boom (essentially the upper half of the light stand) out of the base tube, swivel it then put it back on and re-tighten the Allen screw. Success!! (UPDATE: this was not necessary; by undoing one of the tripod locking nuts the boom extends out of the bottom tube.)The next thing I found that when at an angle it wouldn't take any weight, even with the clamp fully tightened; certainly mounting anything like a strobe and softbox would have been out of the question. I then established there was a screw on the clamp mechanism that needed tightening, which helped greatly, though judicious use of the counterweight bag will surely help and replacement of the metal washers in the clamp with rubber items would help even more.It comes with quite the smallest, flimsiest carabiner I've ever seen, and no obvious way of using it to carry the counterweight bag - the strong but wide strap on the counterweight bag does not fit through the carabiner. The stand itself is solid enough; I have a Neewer 260 cm light stand and it's the same size as that in terms of legs size and stability. So that aspect's all good.In summary; seems like it will do a job for the limited amount of product photography I do; having attached a softbox and had a little play I can see that it will be useful to get some more interesting angles for portrait work too; so it gives me a few more options in the studio and I may find new ways to use it.But it's not a hi-quality item; the lack of instructions caused some head-scratching and I'll have to engineer another solution for hanging the counterweight. I'll update as and when I've some practical experience of use.

Great boom stand
This is a really nicely made stand/boom. It's made entirely out of aluminium, save for the locking knobs which are plastic, so it's really sturdy and strong. The boom arm supports my 32 inch softbox with speedlight with ease and I'm sure that it could support something more substantial. The included sandbag is nice, however I reckon any sand put into it would eventually start escaping so I stuck a couple of 1kg scuba diving weights in it instead which works a charm.Overall it's a really good product for the budget photographer.

Good stand, rubbish sandbag.
Stand itself is good, however after filling the sandbag three out of four zips broke, meaning there is now sand going everywhere on my shoots. If you buy this, invest in a better sandbag.

Missing parts
It didn't include the carabiner to attach the sand bag to the boomer

Perfect
Bought this stand to use with lights and mics. This stand is perfect for what you need and works perfectly.I would say that it came in 2 cardboard boxes which seems like a waste. It also feels slightly loose on connections, where spacers could be used to eliminate this making it a more solid design/build. But apart from that it is great for the intended use.

Fab
I just bought this stand so i could attach my canon 800D to it to record over head videos for youtube (i had to buy a seperate part to attach the camera) i am very impressed with how heavy duty this stand is, i dont even need the sand bag and it holds the weight of my heavy camera, very happy!!
