While there is some interesting information in the book there are some big problems 1) there is way too much self-promotion of the author's sports card business 2) in the Kindle edition the pictures of the cards are much too small to be appreciated 3) certain comments and claims are repeated over and over again.

Lots of info on the cards and companies that produced them.
Very nice book for those of us who collected baseball cards in our youth. Lots of info on the cards and background on the era they were produced and the companies that produced them.

It's a fine book but really small and lacking a lot of detail about any one card type.
I'm sure it's difficult to wirte a book and I'm no expert, but this book really left me wanting a lot more. I know quite a bit about the history of baseball cards but not so much about the early stuff. This book is a fine and very basic introduction into the field, but that is it. It also has a few to many ads for the card shop that wrote the book, especially for the small size the book is in the first place. It took me about 30 minutes of reading every page to get through this one.

Good Book
I liked this book because it contained very old baseball card pix. Some of the cards in this book were actually featured in Cooperstown. I would like to recommend this book to those who'll soon be visiting Cooperstown.

Wanted more information
Cool pictures of old cards, but was expecting more information about cards and time period, seemed like a giant advertisement for the card shop that made the book.

Anyone who might consider themselves even a novice baseball collector must include this in their reference library.Thank you, greatly.

Totally disappointing
This "book" should be given away free as a promo pamphlet for the author's card business. It is not fair to sell it on amazon as a real book. Probably the worst part is the very small, low quality reproductions of the card sets. The images should be a highlight of a book like this. Instead they are dim, barely visible, postage stamp-size glimpses. You'd need a magnifying glass to appreciate them, and that might not even work. The book is a total waste of time and money.
