Brilliant when used in the right way
I see a lot of negative reviews for this product which are very unfair. Yes, this powder tastes horrible when mixed with just water (or as one reviewer tried, coffee?). Complaining about this is like buying turmeric and complaining that it makes your strawberry milkshake taste weird. It is unflavoured protein that has been extracted from peas, it tastes exactly like it sounds. When you start using it as an ingredient in other things, however, it is much much better. I have found this protein powder to be very well suited to things that other powders are not. For instance, whey protein congeals into disgusting lumps when mixed into any hot liquid, but pea protein does not. I like to mix it into spicy soups, which the savoury pea flavour works very well with. If you want to use it in shakes, you definitely need to add sweetness (unless you want a savoury shake?). My current protein shake recipe is to blend a scoop of this powder with milk, frozen berries, an egg and a pinch of sucralose (bulk powders sells this too). I actually prefer this to the version made with whey protein (unflavoured). I've not tried it with almond milk or vegan alternatives to milk, but it will probably work too. Adding a banana will make the shake thicker and creamier too. I will continue to buy this powder, and also will continue to buy whey protein, and as a rule of thumb, use the whey in sweet recipes and the pea stuff for anything savoury. If you want something that you can just mix into water and shake, don't get this, get one of the flavoured powders.

Delicious to the hardcore consumer; unbearable to the rest.
So wow, this is delicious. On a scale of one to ten, this is a go. Took me about 3 meals to get used to it. Mixed with fridge-cooled water to a thick consistency and with absolutely nothing else added, I find it to be delicious. Mixed too thin or in addition to other ingredients (eg cocoa, oil, eggs, cinnamon, fruit, peanut butter) and it becomes unpleasant or even unbearably disgusting to me. The very first time I tried it, I treated it like my previous batch of chocolate flavour whey protein (choc full of soy) and attempted a pea protein chocolate mug cake which turned out so revolting that it almost made me throw up, and I am not a soft-hearted eater. I became deeply sad at that point and started to question my life choices like the other reviewer. But I immediately learned my lesson and stopped treating it like something that can become a dessert. It's never going to be some sweet milkshake or an ice cream Sunday treat (or sundae? You decide.) The trick is to keep it simple, cold and thick. To my palate, the thicker the consistency, the more pleasant the texture. If I am still in existence after this bag runs out, I will re-up with 5 more kis, unless someone decides to produce a soy-free whey protein which they won't. Everything on here is strictly my opinion. If you buy it, you are very likely to find it disgusting and want to throw out the entire bag after first use. The other reviewers are very accurate about this but I still have to five-star it as I now look forward to having it each day.

Decent protein add in for a good price
Works in most shakes etc but can be incorporated into meals in smaller portions ie as a thickner or into a pastry base ,zero texture, pea like taste on its own ,and quality is pretty standard smelt v fresh upon my opening the bag ,good value for money you pay ,

Worst tasting pea protein I've tried to imbibe
It really doesn't suit my palate. I've found that, despite its mild odour, it has a rather acidic taste to it. To the point that after a few days of it I can't bring myself to drink any more. To make matters worse, it's the messiest powder I've had to deal with, too. It's difficult to mix. It clumps up very easily, leaving half the mass stuck to the inside of the shaker. Not only that, something about it seems to "fizz" so the shaker ends up oozing the mix out seal between the bottle and lid, or causing a rather explosive exit when you pop the lid on the shaker. I've got about 0.9kg of a 1kg bag left, and it's going in the bin. Not as cheap as I thought it was going to be...

I finally found the perfect one
My favourite! This helps me a lot by not causing any problems to my stomach as I am lactose intolerant and have gastric reflux. I am very happy I found this one after so many attempts and money spent. My husband tried the one in coconut flavour but I has stevia on it, so I couldn't stand it. So, this one, plain and unflavored pea protein is the one that works for me. It mixes very well to oat milk and honestly, I enjoy the taste of it.

It Might Be For You
A pea protein and a good one at that. I don't understand all the complaints, have people never tasted unflavored 80% whey protein? not the tastiest of things. The price is fantastic and you can always stock up when the sales come around. I have yet to regret making a purchase from Bulk Powders and their service is consistent in product and people. You're looking at approximately 400 - 450ml of water for 55g of powder. Water first, add in the powder, mix with a spoon and then drink. Sure, it tastes bland and has a texture akin to a paste but it far removed from being the worst tasting unflavored protein powder. I highly recommend this product for anyone having digestive issues with isolate and concentrate whey proteins. It is a cheaper alternative and if you're looking to cut down on your daily intake of beef or chicken you can throw a pea protein shake in. Packaging is both strong and resealable with printed information on the back and a scoop inside. Look forward to no foul diary smell in your shakers Be aware of the salt content of this product and your current daily intake. update Sep 2017 - with powders things change from batch to batch. The batch I have currently tastes stronger and looks darker than the previous one. Hold nose and neck it all.

Don’t complain about the taste…
Anyone complaining that this taste disgusting has clearly not tried unflavoured Pea protein powder before. This is just what it tastes like! In fact, this is better than the last one I got. And yes, it dissolves very easily into my smoothies. It’s a bit like eating an apple and then complaining because the Apple tasted like an apple. If you haven’t tried P protein powder before, imagine adding half an old book to a milkshake. You do get used to it though and it’s worth it as there’s a huge amount of protein in there.

Tastes Horrid
I know it probably not the seller fault, but we did not know what to expect, we bought because my wife wanted an alternative to whey protein. if you like the taste of Pea Protein it may suit you, but for us we did not like the taste. and it was expensive. The bag is still in the cupboard 3/4 full

PROTEINE VEGANE OTTIME
