Dremel Detailer's Grip Attachment

I found this attachment very easy and comfortable to use, I was looking at it for a while before deciding to buy it, but so glad I did. I also found it useful when I was trying to cut some thin plywood board with a cutting disc, it was slipping all over the place and not cutting on the line I had drawn, but with the handle fitted, i rested the dremel on the board and just pushed it along using the handle as a rest, it cut a very neat line and didnt move about with the vibration.

If you use a Dremel for detailed work or drilling using very fine drill bits on delicate work, this is the attachment for you.When attached, it enables you to hold the tool in a very stable fashion without having to exert a vice-like grip on it. The angle of the handle means that the body of the tool rests gently on your wrist as you work, enabling very fine movements to be executed with great accuracy.Well worth the very reasonable price.A good buy

There are times when you want close control with a Dremel multi tool but either don't own or don't want the task of attaching a flex-shaft if the job in hand is small or will not take too long, in which case this gives a much better feel and control for more detailed work such as shaping, engraving or carving.It attaches quiet easily, screwing on to the main shaft housing but it won't fit if you use a multi-chuck, so that needs to be removed. You can fit the detailer and then replace the chuck but that involves taking the chuck off again to remove the detailer.A small point but one to consider if you have a multi chuck fitted.In use the detailer provides a handle with good balance giving you effectively a gun to hold which is much easier to manoeuvre and control than holding the multi tool on its own.For a long job or regular fine detailed work the flex drive is probably a better option as it is lighter and less bulky and is easier to hold but as an addition to the main unit to give the multi tool much more control when needed then this does the job - with that chuck limitation.

It does the job, as for thickness if that means did it fit in my hand then yes!

Have a Dremel lite which I use for scale modelling figures; this grip gives me real good control over direction and pressure when drilling holes or detailing.

Makes a huge difference to accuracy for fine work, very comfortable to hold. My only wish is it allowed the light to be fitted at the same time. It’s not cheap but is well very made and as always, you get what you pay for.

Very overpriced for what is a moulded piece of plastic!!! I dare say that the actual cost of making the moulding wouldn’t cost more then a £1 !!!

I wasn't sure how this grip was going to work for me when I placed the order but was pleasantly surprised to find that it makes a BIG difference in being able to accurately control my Dremel. The grip makes the Dremel feel like you're writing with a pencil versus carving with a knife. Installation was easy and it feels secure when held. I have used my Dremel several times since putting the grip on it and now I can't imagine ever using it without it. The only negative is that I feel it was a bit pricey but I would buy it again because it does make a difference. This product should come standard on all Dremels.
