BaByliss Gas Curling Tong

I bought this for my mum to replace an old 'Braun' branded similar product which would appear to be no longer available. The only 'cordless' brand I could now find was this, a BaByliss, available in two sizes, of which this is the larger of the two. It takes a gas cartridge, screwed easily into the handle as fuel to generate the heat. Its easy to replace the cartridge and also easy to operate - just switch on the gas then light it with what appears to be a piezo type igniter - i.e. a clicker switch to generate a spark, much like a cigarette lighter or those gas 'wand' lighters. It has the usual tongs, and a detachable hair brush which just slides on. It also has a protective cover when not in use, which can only be fitted when its switched off - a little safety feature. So, its easy to refill and operate, is well made and when tries oput, worked well getting warm very quickly. as to how well its styles hair, I'll have to update on that when its been used a few times - I'm not sure it would have much effect on my grade 2!

This is a great product! I have been looking for a cordless, gas styler to replace my Braun styler which gave up the ghost a few years ago. I had just about given up the search when I came across this little gem! It heats up quickly, is versatile and efficient. I like having a tong as well as a round brush attachment. My hair is medium-short and layered and this is an ideal size for me. It is great for boosting my hair and putting the body back into it after being out in the wind or rain for example, or before going out in the evening. The price is competitive. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it!

I bought this just to tidy up my hair after I’ve been to the gym in the morning before I start work. Some people have compared this model unfavourably against the retro Braun Independent Hair styler of yester-year. Seriously people, I had one of those, and it was so hot my house reeked of singed hair! It was a dangerous object. This one though gets nice and hot, perfectly hot enough to curl my unruly long hair, with less risk of toasting my locks off. I only use it as tongs, and can agree with other reviewers that if you use it with the barrel brush attachment it won’t fit in the heatproof cover with the brush attachment on. I think it’s great, it does the job for me, and the gas cartridges are easily available st the big supermarkets. Happy days.

The product unit itself is very good. It has a great size barrel and brush and heats up quickly. The reason I have dropped a star is the hetproof cover. This has to win the prize for the most useless, badly designed cover in the entire history of hair styling products. It doesn't fit while the brush is in place so you risk losing the brush portion in the cdepths of your wardrobe or wherever else you may keep your curling tongs. The cover has cut outs for the various switches and bulges etc but doesn't go on far enough and then I read you are supposed to lift the clip that you would use to hold your hair to the barrel and slide the cover under than to keep the cover in place. Nice theory but in practive it doesn't work. it has no cutout to slide under the nase of the clip hence the clip sticks out when the cover is in place andalso stop[s it going onto the barrel as far as it did without the clip holding it. Not an easy thing to explain but anyone who has one already will understand imm,ediately what I am talking about. Braun make a cover that slides on when the brush is in situ and also stops you accidentally turning on the applicance. No such safety on Babyliss product. Sack your designer or make him come up to scratch. This is appalling.

Many moons ago I had a great little hair curler made by Braun. It died a while ago after years of good service and as I travel quite a bit I was looking for a replacement. This seemed to be a good price and a well known brand so I opted for the large barrel option. It came with one gas canister and was well packaged. I had to read the instructions carefully as it's unintuitive to use. Not sure how robust it is-feels a bit flimsy . The gas cannisters won't last long- a third empty and I've only used it once. It heats well and with the brush attachment is easy to use. I am unlikely to use as tongs. There is no carry case supplied so I will use an old cosmetics bag. it's ideal for travel-portable and convenient but unless dismantled a bit big to carry- could have been so much better. A missed opportunity

Bought BaByliss Cordless Gas Styler for travelling, is great for camping trips. Good little hot brush/curler, takes about a minute to get hot. Found the brush best, couldn’t get any curls out of it but really easy to use and lightweight. Came with a gas cartridge, twin pack refills cost about £9 but last a long while if only using on trips. Would def recommend.

This is useless. When you try to screw in the gas cylinder it doesn’t heat W. I thought at first it was me as I have arthritis in my fingers & am awaiting new bones in three of them but when my daughters came round, they couldn’t screw it in either. You think you have done it but there is no heat at all, just a gassy smell. I have had a smaller one of these for years & that is fine! I no longer have the box or packaging obviously.

Mes cheveux sont courts (7/8 cms) et frisent très très serré à la moindre petite humidité ! Et en Normandie, l'humidité ne manque pas... Je dois pouvoir me recoiffer plusieurs fois par jour... Mon Babyliss est toujours dans mon sac à main, je le promène et l'utilise partout puisqu'il fonctionne au gaz. La notice est succincte mais facile à réinventer... Il faut compter environ 3/4 minutes de chauffe, il chauffe assez fort pour me défriser les cheveux sans les brûler. Je viens d'en commander un deuxième chez Amazon et 2 doubles recharges... Attention au prix des recharges, il y en a de 14 à 45 euros... En résumé, je suis ravie ravie ravie....

Le recensioni devono servire a qualcosa e quindi vi dico la mia cruda e pura! innanzitutto questo tipo di arricciacapelli può essere caricato solo con bombolette della BaByliss che costano troppo e durano pochissimo... è un apparecchio che brucia il capello perchè arriva a temperature altissime e non c'è modo di regolare nulla... soldi, troppi, spesi malissimo e davvero buttati. SCONSIGLIO VIVAMENTE
