CTEK Cigarette Lighter Connector Adaptor 56-263

I wanted to hard-wire my Ctek charger into my car, for over-winter care of the battery when the car is only used occasionally. This did the job perfectly, makes connecting up easy, charges perfectly well and will really help my battery life. The lead is just long enough to reach from the wire I have from the wall socket, through the boot, and to the charger which is tucked into a side well in the boot. The adapter is strong and of high quality. It did require doing some rewiring of the fuse box to make the boot accessory socket permanently connected, but that only took ten minutes with a fuse adapter.

Excellent, simple device that enables you to connect the CTEK charger (7A maximum - this is not suitable for CTEK models with a greater current) direct to the car's cigarette lighter socket. Most cars will have one at the front, and quite likely others in the rear and in the boot. No need to lift the bonnet at all, and no messing around with crocodile clips. This will NOT work however if the sockets are not live when the ignition is switched off. Easy to check this - try charging something like a phone with the ignition off, and if you have to switch the ignition on to get it to charge, this device won't work. One tip - consider buying the extension cable that CTEK produce. The lead that comes with the cigarette lighter socket cable is very short indeed, and the extension cable makes it easier still to use.

Bought this adapter for the cigarette lighter as its easier to use than lifting the bonnet/connecting the leads. Works without any issues. However, you may need to purchase the extension cable if your plug socket isn't close by.

I got this as part of the solar charger to help keep my battery going until I could replace it, the charger quality was great, it didn’t costs a fortune and design meant it fit without getting in the way.

Works perfectly. Just check that the power/lighter socket on your car is permanently live, ie not turned off with the ignition. Also note that the cable is only 30cm long.

If your cigarette lighter is off while ignition is off, this doesn't work. So is your car shut off cigarette lighter likes mine, it will not work.

A little expensive BUT a very useful add-on to the CTEK range . Saves rummaging around in the Battery Area

Just a tip - before you decide to buy this item plug your phone, ipod whatever, into your car cigarette lighter without your keys in the ignition. If the device you plugged in starts to charge then this lead should work with the appropriate ctek charger to charge your car battery. Having had to remove my battery recently to charge it then having to reset the stereo etc was a pain in the rear so i looked around for a solution that would allow me to avoid that scenario in the future. I bought this with the MSX5 and its turned out to a great solution. I can now just plug the lead into the lighter socket plug in the charger and feed the extension lead through the car window to the mains plug, lock it up (on the drive) and leave it all to charge without even opening the bonnet. J’ai acheté ce CTEK Connect CIG Plug pour pouvoir recharger la batterie de mon véhicule sans avoir à accéder directement aux bornes (ma batterie est difficile d’accès), et je suis très content du résultat. Points forts : Installation très simple car la prise se branche sur la prise accessoire/allume-cigare 12 V, donc pas besoin d’utiliser des pinces. Câble bien conçu, robuste et flexible, ce qui donne une connexion sûre et durable quand il est utilisé avec un chargeur CTEK compatible. Il fonctionne avec les chargeurs CTEK jusqu’à 7 A selon la fiche produit et la prise d’accessoire est compatible avec des sockets de 12 mm à 21 mm. A noter que le câble fait “seulement” 40 cm, ce qui peut être un peu court selon la disposition des prises dans le véhicule. Conclusion : Un accessoire très utile pour les personnes ayant des batteries difficiles d’accès : on branche le chargeur via la prise 12 V, et le système CONNECT de CTEK s’occupe du reste. Je recommande vivement👍
