Before I write anything else, then let it be known that I know the cycling gods are about to punish me for hubris. I will get punctures front and rear tomorrow. OK, let's begin...I had awful problems with punctures. Terrible. Every other time I went out I had a flat. So I bought these. Firstly, they are a sod to get on. Almost impossible. A two man job when you both have hands of iron and nothing to do for three days. Once on, they are brilliant. There is a layer of puncture resistant blue stuff (according to the photo) between the puncture resistant layers of the puncture resistant tyre. And the whole thing feels bullet proof. I will leave it to others to discuss the rolling resistance and how many watts are lost due to the thicker nature of the tyres. All I can say is they feel more solid than the previous ones and the slight tread makes them feel safer in the wet. Plus, no punctures so far.So, as I say, really awful to get on. But, fingers crossed, once on, they are on for a while. They seem excellent

Great tyre at a good price,excellent levels of grip without high drag and great puncture resistance,the tyre was difficult to fit you will need some strong tyre levers as the tyre is very tight, i broke 2 levers fitting 2 tyres, over 500 mls so far no punctures, great tyre with quick delivery, i would recommend.

Has these on a pair of scott sub wheels (17mm bead seat) and they wern't too hard to fit, did about 4000 miles on the back before the blue rubber was showing through. Front still OK.Lots of flint cuts, but only a couple made it through.Grip OK in the wet and roll better than the marathon plus 28s I also have.Got some of the Durano Plus ETAPE edition ones fitted this week to some Giant P-SL1 wheels, (16mm bead seat, and a shallow rim)I broke 2 tyre levers and pinched 3 tubes!!, I hqve some heavy duty levers now, so I'm hoping, if I get a ouncture, I gan get the tyres off and back on without any more punctures!!

I've ridden out twice on these since purchase (and like the other reviewers, after struggling to get them on the wheel - and, what the hell, I used levers in the end in spite of all the advice to the contrary).They are brilliant. You can feel the quality and rigidity as you pump these tyres up. Once on the road, the extra comfort of the 25cc width and the sheer security you get from watching them roll around bends, or over road strewn debris is enough to get you out of the saddle pumping the cranks no matter what the conditions.Yes, they're going to be a teensy bit slower than 23cc slicks, but I didn't have that snap of dread as I speed over some unforeseen hazard. As I use the bike part time as a commuting machine. the tyre is going to be second to none.

The tyres having been folded to fit in the packaging appeared to be misshapen on arrival. On fitting the tyres one of them would not seat correctly causing the inner tube to stick out between the rim and the tyre, leading to the tube bursting, I have had similar issues with these tyres in the past, I won't be buying them again

for me, these are receiving less punctures then the continental gatorskins, and specialized armadillos on the same route. In the same season.

Cheaper than Continental Gatorskin and seems a similar quality.

Did not fit 700x23c tyre and lost an inner tube in the process

Der Mantel ist Stabil und wirkt sehr Wertig. Habe ihn mir gekauft da ich keine Lust mehr hatte alle 2 Wochen mein Schlauch zu wechseln da mein Arbeitsweg 7km voll mit Scherben ist.Hab den Mantel jetzt 3 Monate gefahren er hält noch super und hat bisher noch nicht eine Scherbe oder sonst was an den Schlauch gelassen.

These weigh a bit more than 'performance' road tires, but they are extremely durable and hard to puncture. It's a good trade off.

Nutze den Reifen an meinem Rennrad, mit dem ich bei schönen Wetter alle Wege innerhalb Berlins bewältige. Da ich bei Regen immer auf ein anderes Rad zurückgreife, kann ich zu den Eigenschaften bei Nässe nichts sagen.Seit ich den Durano fahre (ca. 1 Jahr), hatte ich noch keinen Platten, was bei den Berliner Strassenverhältnissen eine echte Leistung ist. Zuvor bin ich klassische Mäntel mit seitlichen Gewebestreifen gefahren. Die waren zwar sehr viel schöner, aber ca. ein Platten pro Monat war mir dann irgendwann echt zu heftig.Zu den Fahreigenschaften: Ich habe das Gefühl, der Durano rollt nicht so schön ab, wie Mäntel ohne Pannenschutz. Vielleicht bilde ich es mir ein, aber mir scheint, dass gerade der hohe Druck den man auf Rennrädern fährt, sich nicht besonders gut mit dem harten Plastikstreifen im Mantel verträgt.Ich gebe dem Mantel dennoch vier Sterne, denn ich habe ihn mir gekauft um in der Stadt ohne Platten unterwegs sein zu können und das bin ich. Für längere Touren in weniger kritischen Terrain würde ich einen anderen Mantel wählen.Ach ja: Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr ok.
