STAEDTLER Fimo Soft 8022-0 Oven Hardening Modelling Clay 350g - White

Lightweight , and easy to use. Building on wire 22 guage. while not as strong or hard as milliput it allows more time to alter and shape before hardening. It is still quicker than CAD to prototype and achieve some good results. A good alternative to Sculpey. With 50grms I can make figures over 150mm and for a couple of quid , make fairly good rpg models.

yup it models easily, its nice to work withi made a reindeer and i burned it in the oven a little bit and the edges went pink and the smell made me feel a bit sick butnow i hav a very very cute little reindeer so thats oki'm going to make more

Product is very easy to manipulate. I would recommend this for any beginner or someone who doesnt want to spend a lot of time conditioning the clay.

This product arrived in good time. It is very good for intricate works, charms, jewellery, miniature "kawaii" little sculptures, but nothing big.If, like me, you have trouble with your hands then this isn't the clay for you. It's very hard to manipulate and if you've used a little water to help manipulate it you then leave yourself vulnerable to cracks and breakages.Cut it into tiny pieces with a knife and use just a little baby oil on your hands to help make it more malleable if you are struggling.Paints well, and sets fast, so work quickly! :)

Managed to make 32 little bases with it, easy to use, instructions of baking on the back, good price and fast delivery!

It was the first time I used this, I'm more used to plasticine, but that didn't stop me from making a half decent statue of a figure.I made it for a college project and it survived everything it went through. Though I did have it in a box and cushioned it with plastic bags.All in all, I will probably buy this again if I feel like modelling and I recommend this for any little project you've got.

Probably good for experienced artists, not for me.I can see how you could get some really fine detailing to hold with this clay if you are an experienced sculptor. If so, my review won't be very helpful, you might as well skip it. I however, bought this block with two intentions: 1. to have a go at a basic sculpture of an idea I had (non-professional, light detailing, having only worked in plasticine last as a teenager) and 2. to take an impression of my cat's paw for posterity. I failed miserably at both.Now admittedly, this may have been down to my own lack of skill, but having done a little research online and wanting to get the best results I decided to splash the cash, confident in the thought 'how hard could it be?'. VERY VERY VERY HARD is the answer.MAN ALIVE!! - I do some gym-style grip training i.e. Gripmasters, wrist rollers with weight, farmer's carry, ironman spring grippers, powerball, pinch plates, fat bar isometric holds, etc. and trying to work this clay would give any of those things a run for their money. I spent a good hour kneading , rolling, wetting, pulling and stretching and hardly got this clay to soften enough to be manageable. I did try project 2 - cat's paw, which barely made any impression and simply got me scratched up and bleeding! Project 1 was a no-go.My incredible vision for a mini-sculpture (to be entered into the RA's next Summer Exhibition) embodying an existentialist and essentialist paradox, was ultimately just a failed blob of poorly worked clay (though if Will Gompertz wanted to do an interview, I'd of course argue that artistically I achieved my original intent, it's just a question of perspective).To add insult to injury, two meagre days afterwards, I visited my local high-end, extremely upmarket, random supplies store, 'The Range' (Catherine Middleton, thank you very much) to find the same exact type of clay £pounds cheaper.If there was an earthly way to sellotape the packaging and return this blob of bitter disappointment in a re-salable condition, I would. Unfortunately I am left, dreams tattered, with a semi-hard lump (leave it), which is embellished with every available piece of dirt from my (I thought reasonably clean) desk, a few loose cat hairs, my own blood, probably some sweat and many, many dried tears; with the only bright side being that it has given me an opportunity to indulge my own procrastination, writing this review, instead of getting on with the work I should be doing right now.So my recommendation is to either buy Das Clay or one of the softer Staedtler options unless you also have work you may want to distract yourself from doing.

Great quality product

I appreciate the promptness of delivery and the item arrived in good shape. I have just started working with it, just playing really. I have wanted to try Fimo polymer clay for some time now. I have heard others complain that Fimo is hard to work with although it is superior after it is baked, which I want. I was pleasantly surprised that the clay is quite workable, I was able to condition it (perhaps it helps that this is Fimo Soft). Once conditioned, it seems to stay reasonably pliable, even when cold and having been left for a day or two. Very satisfied!
